The Frankenbeans Experiment!

I know what you mean. My location just isn't ideal. Plus I don't think it'd be worth the risk to grow it wild outdoors. When I move to a legal state I want to grow 10 pounders outdoors lol. For the time being I feel safer in my own home. Thanks for the tips tho! I actually watched a DVD that was made by an ex DEA agent who also explained of what your talking about.

yea buddy! never get raided! good dvd! this guy fwas from my state though so he had the low down on this area! lot of people grow here cause weather is awesome! high in the 80's and no to high humidity keeps you from getting bud rot!
got to love the mountains!!!

Ya the weathers not so great here. Usually winter 6+ months a year and no mountains :( Hoping to move to CO soon tho! :D

Yea I'm hoping that NC gets there shit together and quits this ignorant shit! If it was to cut loose and legalize medical in this state, and be the first one in the south east to do it! It would absolutely go fucking nuts! I bet we could clear 50 to 75 million dollars a year in revenue and that low balling it! Back when Cali and Oregon and shit did it, they cleared over 100 million in the first year! Haha. Talk about getting the economy back to where it needs to be. Promote jobs that people would actually enjoy doin! And not to mention the money we could save on imprisonment of marijuana! Fuck that right there alone is enough to make a smart person vote that way! It's bat shit crazy not to medically legalize it! The pros out weight the cons in a mass majority! I'm surrounded by stupid mufuckers! Bring on the zombies to eat the dumb asses!

Ditto! Lol

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't updated this much. Have a lot of stuff going on right now. These two plants are now in my flowering tent. They are stunted due to me transplanting them but they both are healthy and female so far. I've decided to track them on my regular journal for now. If they turn out good I'll come back on here and do a SOG style with 1gal pots to document the success of these seeds. So I'm putting this thread on hold for now but feel free to follow these plants in my journal and keep an eye out for the SOG experiment on here in a month or so.

I know this thread is a little old but came across this tonight and made me think of the thread.... ;)

OK how about applying mendalien genetics to sex determination?

In 1927 K. Hirata at the Hokkaido Imperial University published work where he induced hermaphrodite formation in Cannabis sativa by mutilation, isolated each plant so it only fertilised itself, allowed the buds to mature, collected the seeds and replanted them. 294 seeds were collected, 143 germinated of which 78 were female, 45 were intersex (AKA hermaphrodite) and 3 were male, the rest never reached sexual maturity. (Hirata, K. Journal of genetics (1927), 19(1): 65)

Hirata postulated a sex chromosome setup analogous to our XY system, and Mackey (and maybe other since) visualised homologous pairs of chromosomes for all but one pair, suggesting the existence of the semi-homologous XY pair.

One of the observation Hirata made was there seemed to be a range of intersex phenotypes which would argue sex as a quantitative trait.
