good work ??? please do not praise someone for growing hermie born seeds im not trying to be rude here i just want anyone and everyone who might be new to growing to know that this is not a prefered thing to do , experienced growers and breeders would have thrown away ANY and ALL hermie born seeds yes it is very common they are fems , but it is not always the case , and even if they are fems , why would a person want the hermie trait ? im not fond of seeing a thread like this as i feel it continues the ongoing missconseptions year after year after year after year when it has been PROVEN what i say is true by professional horticulturalists and plant biology experts ill say this , then i will try my best to not ruin the vibe any further in this thread , FOR THE RECORD imo growing hermies is bad peace :Cool:

I agree as well that as a whole growers should strive to improve the genetics of cannabis, however; I personally live under the "iron curtain". Getting caught means losing my whole life. I take a lot of risks this site included. If I could I would have a degree in marijjuana horticulture and I would own a lab where I can scientifically breed and better the species myself. Right now I can't do that. I struggle to pay for each piece of equipment I own. I risk getting caught with every package I order. So the idea of spending more money on ordering more illegal seeds that I could screw up again isn't feasible when I have over a hundred of these seeds. I also have the experience of growing bagseed into successful females.

In a perfect world I'd love to conform to your standards bob but in the world I live in anything better than shwag is good so even if I have a few seeds ill still be ok.

Hopefully someday this stupid prohibition will be over and we can all work collectively to improve this amazing plant. Peace brother!

Sorry bro I didn't realise that we already discussed this. I remember now lol. I'm anxiously awaiting your results. I do want to quickly clarify that reversing with cs is nothing like making a stress induced hermi. The plants I reverse with CS do not herm when stressed. My team and I stress test and re stress test our strains to eliminate any hermi genetics. The CS isn't stressing the plants to male them reverse. It may technically stress the plant in terms of going against the nature of the plant but since I know that stress won't herm the plants I work with then the result is actually a full reversal of the reproductive parts of the plant and not hermaphroditism... Good luck though. I'm just gonna be quiet and watch now. :thumbs:

So would your theory in my predicament be that one plant had hermi traits that pollinated the rest or all plants hermied from environmental stress? Because as you stated reputable breeders are supposed to eliminate the chances of a hermie under almost any conditions. Meaning it's much more likely that one hermied and pollinated the rest. If that is the case would those resulting seeds be better?

Honestly it depends on alot. I think completely eliminating herms from the genetic line has only been the standard practice for maybe 20 years or so. So technically a lot of strains could still possibly have herm genetics. Also some breeders (although not many) still don't properly stress test.
It was most likely just one plant pollinating the rest unless they were all the same strain from the same breeder. I don't think that makes it any better though, genetically speaking. All the seeds will still have 50% of their genes from the hermi. It's pretty simple, any hermi genetics are bad genetics.

I understand where you're coming from about not wanting to buy more seeds and just using what you have but you are playing the hermi genetic lottery lol. We just don't want anyone thinking that it is good to use herm plants for breeding because its NOT.

If your looking for percentages of what results from hermie beans? As after the message I kinda got lost in your orginal point... Let me ask you this MrBubbles... It seems like youve put a TON of effort and thought into your posts.. Why not take that time and read the stickies in each forum.... We are great bunch of people, we just dont like seeing misinformation spread, dont look at this as a negative or we're trying to pounce on you, we are just trying to help... If you just want beans, to grow meds for yourself that are better than what available locally than CONGRATULATIONS on all your beans! I mean all you want to do is save yourself some $$$ so in the end do any results matter? You answered yourself all the benefits of your own seed, dont have to buy no more, can create more, etc... So we just want to make the time and energy your invested into your endeavors well spent. Just GROW and be happy we ARE FREE FROM THE DEALER!!! Isnt that what matters at the end of the day anyhow? if all a person wants is free seed or to avoid ordering more due to legal issues my best advise would be to get some stable seeds and breed a male to the females , or get brave and make some fems

it gets annoying having seeds explode in ur face every time you smoke hermie weed lol , ahhhh the good ol days of thai weed as far as the eye can see and SNAP! there went another seed lol
