Hi Clone It was really just a curiosity question ,I mean i see alot of talk about using CS to change a female to male for the pollen and just wondered if you would be able to just do a few Branches of your female and let her make her own seeds.Mostly because I have quite a few single fem seeds (freebies) That I would like to have more of and thought this might be a good way to do that .I just dont want to f***up a strain by doing something that would alter the genitics.

By the way nice to meet ya bro.....:smokebuds:

MITJ

You too!
You could isolate a couple of branches, spray them and see what happens. But pollen flies - may as well just do the whole plant and I think the whole plant probably needs spraying to get the reversal - I could be wrong there.
I'm no expert but I've done it several times now - and I've learnt by mistakes.
If I can help I will - if I dont know the answer, I'll tell you.
Sure your equip will be fine - everywhere you read - it's a slightly different story.

Just a quick re-visit to my little CS/STS trial.
One quite significant observation is that my STS sprayed plants are still giving pollen in large amounts daily.
That is at least 5 weeks - which is far longer the the CS'd plants which are basically spent.
This is really the only big difference I have noticed between the two methods so far - apart from STS sprayed plants seem to take a few days longer to give pollen.
I'm not trying to put this out as a "definitive guide" - just my observations.
If you asked me which I would choose next time round, my answer would have to be that I would use 2 reversed plants, one of each. Which is exactly what I will be doing through the Winter.
I'm running the seeded for 8 weeks from first sight of pollen - so 3 weeks to go max - I'll pop back.

would be good with the sts plants to continue adding/replacing other females to get a perpetual thing going while they are still dropping pollin

normally though i would rather my males/reversed to drop the pollin as quickly as possible to avoid having mature seeds and far from mature seeds on each female when harvest time comes around

i even pull out my C.S reversed plants long before they are done dropping pollin and still end up with a boatload of uniform mature seeds on/in my girls

please keep us updated Clone Ranger on anything future or present , including future experiments

Now you've said it - yes, had I been prepared and could entertain the lighting - my supply is weak - vegging is ok but I have to run 2 tents flowering - one is on when the other is off during flowering.Penalty for living up a Mountain in the middle of the only European "Desert".
You could put two tentfulls through the STS fems.
They are still giving pollen - every time I lift them for watering, I see it floating toward the lights.
I see the point of pulling them out - let the pollenated plants get on with developing seeds rather than keep taking on new ones - could lead to a lot of undeveloped beans cos the plant cant cope maybe?
Definately something to consider - but what do you do with them? Kill em off?
Do we discard their own seeds because being the reversed plants, we have bred in a hermie trait? But beans from their clones are ok.........I can understand that - but is it true?
These are topics I've seen mentioned but have no sound info on.
Like to hear peoples opinion on related stuff like that.
Just to give a quick overview.
I've taken a few strains which are well known - bought them in S1 form or taken them to S1, tested them and then taken the chosen one's clones and S2d them.
I did 6 strains through the last 18 months.
These S2s have now met an IBL male. Gave me regular beans.
The S2s I'm running now are meeting reversed Sisters oF the IBL male.
Gives me regular and femmed of all 6 strains outcrossed to a really potent medical strain and heavy pollen donor.
Smoked some scissor hash - did I make sense there?
Thanks for everybody's interest - I enjoy this stuff!

i completely reverse my plants so no seed on them , and yes i kill them , i suppose i could put them in a large plastic tote or somewhere safe to continue collecting pollin , but i do this constant/perpetual and have no need to store pollin

I've always had seed on my CS reversed plants - but I think you spray yours more than I have done Bob.

I just sprayed 2 branches and have several flowers but just a small amount of pollen. Do the flowers produce more pollen if you do the entire plant?

If you do the whole plant, it should be covered in flowers but they dont produce like a normal male.

So I would have more flowers that still produce a little amount of pollen? I guess in the end I would end up with more pollen if I do the entire plant just because it has more flowers even though they have less pollen then normal males. Haha I think I got it

i have posted MANY times about how my FULLY C.S reversed plants grow and produce EXACTLY like a normal male does

untill people start FULLY reversing a plant like they should be doing then i do not believe they should make comparison claims

just saying

EDIT : @ clone ranger ,,,, this could be why you dont see a lot of pollin ,,,,,,

imo your not doing it quite right , it might be working for you , but i believe you can improve

peace again
