so some more input on my style with the pyramids and how played out with first plant harvested.
I set them up ontop some pebbles and let them stand in the runoff - treated like hydro, fed every feed.
So we know how they airprune the roots, but what if the lower roots may grow out even more in the pebbles.
Well. they're sativas, but they got big - topped and bend over still 75cm - the first harvested was the smallest of all, the think different ecactly at 75 cm.
and here some shots of the roots in the pebbles - they were completely incorporated.
Nice and healthy - some dwc guys may like this view.
So IF theres some relationship between size of the pyramid and size of the plant, now could easily get the ease of the pyramid use to extend the flowering...they may have gotten rootbound in my setup though...but the ultimate stands at a meter+, so there's still some more growth opportunity without being rootbound i guess.
so
@The Iconoclast get your "shallow-water" setup prepared and pop a pyramid ontop - perhaps for monsters.
- SUCH LITTLE SPACE.
- No airpumps
- No ph swings
- No temp issues with res
- nearly no salt buildupo with my schedule (which I can't promise in the future due to a fertilizer change)
- little to zero runoff (the roots suck it up), very effective vs coco
- just the little weight with big plants...they may fall over if LSTed assymetrical from the stem when not fastened somehow later in the grow
- if they get too dry they become a little hydrophobic, so a ebbflow system would be best i think - so
@>Potato I think that will be great if you get along with the placement of the plants in there.
Thumbs up for the pyramids!
Cheers!
