Fast Buds Sweet treats from Fastbuds - Orange Sherbet & Bubblegum

It does penetrate pretty well.
I looked at the spec on my autocobs and not even close to the SP. I like the autocobs I will use them again, but just the eye test shows all you need to see. I'm hoping this will help give me more dense buds. Some of it is to fluffy for me. Has lots of trichs, but not dense solid buds. Some have said that comes from led lights, but I think that's bullshit.

I dunno. Naturally most of the bud characteristics come from the genetics. I think good light penetration comes into play in making denser buds is purely from more intense light of the leds and more of the light being utilized by the plant. I don't know much about cobs, but from what I understand, the light is fairly focused. You get very little reflected light. Even with the 2014 California Lightworks SolarStorm 220(VERY BURPLE!), I can see the color under the HBSS girls. That's even with the SP3000 cranked 100%........so lots of reflected and penetrative light! And that's on to the leaves. Hitting the buds is just secondary.
Just my thoughts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,doesn't mean they are correct!

Here is the par map for the SP3000 for a 4'x2'.

Mars-Hydro-SP-3000-PAR-Map.jpg

This is from Coco for Cannabis, his light review sold me in the SP3000. Test is without a reflective floor so no padding of numbers. His YouTube channel is great for anyone who want to check it out. Lowest point is 734 in the far upper right hand square.

Here is what I found for the autocob.

Intensity*

810 ~umoles with reflectors @12"

630 ~umoles @12"

310 ~umoles with reflectors @24"

220 ~umoles @24"

I'm assuming the 630 is the highest par??? At its highest par it's over 100 less par than the SP3000's lowest. That is also at 7.5" closer than the SP3000. I believe each autocob has only a 18" max cover as well. I was 24"+ with my cobs, not sure just had them at the top of my tent. I didnt know how weak they were at that height. The SP is much better light according to the numbers. Stay lifted.

Yeah, I posted his results and links in the intro thread by Mars for the intro of the SP3000. Also the later tests of two SP3000 in a 4x4.

Great site by the way.

I knew you knew lol, that was for other that dont know his site. Great reviews from him I'm subbed on his YouTube. The autocobs arent as clear so I will assume that's directly under at only 12"??? I was mostly under 200 par at my highest with the autocobs. I will know more in about a month or so.

Damn! That's low!

Well, if 24" is 220 I was at or maybe few inches higher. They were on the top bar no pulley. Idk the numbers were so low, that's why I'm with the SP now lol. I had two so it did quite cover as much as the SP. I have a 3rd, but the SP would still blow them away. It may even be to much light at 100%. I dont want to go closer than the 19.5", that was the optimal height in the review and I'm good with that. At that height I'm way ahead of where I was and I dont worry about them being fried. I can have a 24"-28" plant no problem and still have that distance. Since I train them out most of the time I dont hit that high so doesn't impact me. It's nice to know if they do get taller i can dim the light. I've had a few get tall when I didnt train. Would have been nice to turn down saving some that got burned. I'll see how lights does, I think it will do well with the way I grow. Bud sites look larger, but that could be me getting inside my head lol. I cant hlep believe that with the improved light will come improved results. I wish I had another $400 for another, I would put away till needed. That's the only sad part is I know at some point the SP will burn out hahaha. Nothing last forever in the cold November rain... stay lift bud.

22-23 inches is what I run. 19.5-20 toasted Miss Wispy until I backed off on my first run.

I suspect like everything else its strain to strain. I went up to 24 and came down slowly till I hit 19.5 so far so go, but I expect for some it will need to be higher. 1 of the reasons I will use 2gal next run, I gain 4" in a 2gal so makes more wiggle with the distance. Gonna have to feed like daily, but only 3 plants so not that big of deal. I may switch back to Megacrop, have a bunch I stopped using. I found my error and may give it a go again. It literally took like 5 mins and I was done mixing Greenleaf lineup. AN takes like 15-20 mins so that is time I could spend doing anything else. Time is money lol.

Most defiantly strain defendant!

Dude! MC is so damn easy to use the way pop22 told me to use it.

Now, that being said, I have NOT had any fungus gnat problems with this grow. Notice I said problems. That doesn't mean none. I have seen some. I think I can attribute that to the bio-diversity I added by adding worms, castings and some of the worn bin media...........with all the little bug helpers. Can I prove this? Hell no, but I'll bet anything I could have done this during my first run, they would have been kept in check. Again no proof, just being observant and logical.
