New Grower Sweet Seeds - First LED Run!

I'm so glad my pickup line days are archived.... lolol
That's a wee bit hot in there, imo. Can you remove a dilithium crystal from that electric sun of yours? lol I jest...
Whats your room (outside tent) temp? i.e. is it high as well? I've never had to do it, but I hear some growers putting frozen gallon jugs of H2O in the tent to cool during the hottest part of the day. But, if the outside temp is high, too, then its just going to drop the tent a degree or 3..
Peace

They look great, subbed for the ride!

Great to have you down for the ride Bilbo, welcome along!

Wax - My grow area is basically a grow tent inside a closet, which is located in a south-facing room of my house so it gets the sun for most of the day. Unfortunately/fortunately, whichever way you want to look at it, the weather over here in the UK has been the best on record this year as far as Septembers go so that might have something to do with it. I'll measure the room temp tomorrow one i've got my low reading overnight tonight. It does get quite warm in there though. Anyway, i'm sure the weather will deteriorate soon enough, this is the UK after all!!

I'll keep my eye on it.

NB :Sharing One:girls looking good brv, i be whiching you sweet mix show:pass: , Peace Kudo.jpg

Poked my head into the tent this evening and took some readings from the hygrometer, also watered the plants with plain water that has been sat out for 24hrs. The seedlings are looking very healthy indeed and are definitely growing. The one with 2 cotyledons is slightly taller and has a really deep purple stem. The other one that has just the one fat cotyledon is slightly more squat and has a thicker, hairier light pink-coloured stem. Lots of colour already but very early days though, obviously!

At the time I checked the hygrometer tonight (18:20) it was reading 23.5 celcius and 51% RH (light off)

Low readings are 19.4 celcius, 43% RH
High readings are 30.1 celcius, 62% RH

I'll get an ambient room temp during the day tomorrow. I'm worried that 30.1C is too high - what's the consequence of this (apart from slowed photosynthesis)? I've turned the fan up to number 2 (fast speed) to see if I can cool things down a bit.

Peace

Hey there NB, where are you taking the temps, floor, middle or top of the tent? You should be ok at 30c but remember the temps get higher as you get higher in the tent so once the plants are bigger you'd be better reading the temps at the canopy level preferably out of the direct light.
Try opening another lower tent vent and leaving your closet door open if you can at the hottest parts of the day. Also raising your panel a few inches can help a lot with temps, keep us posted mate :)

Now then Bilbo thanks for replying mate. I'm getting my readings from the floor at the base of the smartpots at the moment. I've got a mate who grows photoperiod strains and he has a meter that has 2 probes on wires so he can measure the temps at different places inside his cab, so now you've said about canopy-level temp monitoring I know why he has that kind of setup! Never thought to ask him at the time...

I'm gonna move the hygrometer onto the top of the soil in one of the pots and see what the temps are like there - my guess is higher than the above figures! I'll also have a fiddle with the light height and see if we can get some more stable temps in there.

Peace

Hi nuteburn :) Subbed fro your grow.

I have a wee tip to help prolong the life of your tent. The left zipper is for the top curve and the right zipper is for the bottom curve. The zippers should meet in the middle of the vertical :) Otherwise, in the future, you could run into some zipper problems you really don't want :) loads of people make the same mistake with their suitcases too ;)

:goodluck:
