Sweet Seeds Sweet Seeds Blow Mind

:smokeout: matey-O's,....

I didn't do too much ... I have concerns about too much defoliation when in flower mode! Recipe for disaster no??? I only trimmed what you saw on that day ... other than that, i've only pulled the leaves that were gonna fall anyway. .. not too many!
Oh, I thought I saw somewhere you had done another round of pruning, which would not surprise me in the least!
.... bugger and fek about the bloody fan! Can you find one of those converted computer fans with a cord? That's what I was thinking of, it's nice and compact, not too powerful....
Heyyy!!! Yeah, i'm pleased with how i've kept her healthy this long ... a varied menu has helped and i'll be honest, i've been looking at that bottle of BoomBoom thinging "should I?? .... just a few drops in with the goodies!??!" ... I've held myself back as adding Orga with the PK and Biosys was "brave" by my standards!

I've been hearing the echo of ole' mr ganjamoto too ....."develop an abundance mentality" he said! ... and it's pretty spot on for organics - But i've been trying to cover all the bases with the tabs and the extra bits i throw in .. and keep plenty of goodies in the soil.
I was looking at what's in Boom-Boom, and there's not much overlap, so serve that up! I wish I could get some again, but it's not available over here-- still! :cuss:Shipping would be painful too,... I think the mixed menu is why you're getting such good results, even w/o the usual per loading of stuff like Startrex, etc.,... And one of the nice things about organics is their mildness, and the fact that you have a thriving soil herd to help buffer and cycle their uptake and release! Did you even find a decent micro's supp' yet? -- thinking purely preventative here,...

Yeah .. I'm hoping the buds will fatten tremendously ... for it to out perform the crystal candy auto or trainwreck auto .. it's gonna have to get it's chunk on!!

But yes indeed .. thanks to you and Magoo ... we've done it!! ..together!! We will communually get to harvest together! :D

:bighug:

Thanks as always for all the inputs! I think i'm starting to get the hang of it    ... after all these years!
:pighug:
Blow Mind can put some phat on if I recall rightly! Maybe not quite as chunky as the more Indica leaning types, since she's a Haze relative (leaner buds generally),...
 Blooo, you're still the best "minimalist" grower I know here!

Waira… looks like we will have to cross the pond and help Blue smoke up some of that bud:drool: after all she IS a lightweight. could you imagine what would happen if she left us alone?
with her girl:woody::hump::naughtystep:it would be all over the floor!:oops1::eek1:
:yoinks: errmegerrrd, you so nasty! :condom:= *grunt, snort* -- scoot over,....:haha::haha::haha: ..... No worries Blooo, we're not dab-heads (thank gods m tolerance isn't that high!), and we clean up after ourselves nicely too,...

@Waira -- thanks for your thoughts about the auto / photo thing...
How are the more established Seedstocker auto cultivars, like BCN Critical, AK420, BCN Power Plant, Amnesia?
:bighug: Maria luv, how are you? :passit: .... yes, it's been an eye-opener this last year it seems, with what's seemingly anomalous behavior that turns out to be not so much so! that said, we all know each seed is a little gamble, a dice roll,.. even the best breeders can have bad batches, or rare "misfires",... wish I knew more about breeding and had a larger list of brains to pick quiz over such oddities and their frequency, something those that DO really know! ..... I've not heard any troubles with those strains, though a couple hiccups have shown in thier seed germing rates,...Nichole Crm. and another I forget,...

'Allo Waira!

Soy muy buena. Thanks for that. I've had a big range of Seedstockers' autos in my shopping cart on my fave seed bank.
But mainly just those cheaper strains that they've had a long time. Not the fancy new names, but look very solid more old school genetics.
Though IIRC someone here at AFN had an Auto Amnesia that took like forever to show sex and flower...

Was wondering, the way that Seedstockers kind of outsource their seed making, I guess it's to larger commercial ops around Spain.
Maybe if they are outdoors, and in areas where there is a lot of commercial growing, that there may be pollen contamination on the wind.
Have absolutely no way to know this, just a thought.
Same problem with any outdoor growing for sensimilla in areas where there is commercial hemp............ not just seeded buds, or seeded buds by unknown pollen donors, but with hemp rather than drug cultivars... seed only worth making into granola............

Just haven't needed to go to checkout, coz old seeds and some new and tester seeds have kept me with more than I can grow...

You think i should? Defoliate more i mean ... I was thinking that i'll start plucking leaves to ease the harvest when the buds fatten up some more! Didn't wanna stress it out at this stage! I'm thinking it will reduce the mold chances ... and what about those buds that are pressed against the tent doors and back wall ... keep em and thake my chances ...or let em go *snip!* ?

Yeah i've been using that Biosys powder that Med put me on to (a bene tea powder thats mixed with water ... or in my case, water and bioPK ... doubling up!).
I do like the mildness of organics ... a lot less stressful than the EC PH dance i used to endure when i grew with coco.

 Blooo, you're still the best "minimalist" grower I know here!

Heheh - A very fine compliment from one of AFNs best :D ... :bighug: .. It's mainly the light and autopot that do the work .. then it's all down to the wonderful advice i recieve here!

Here's a photo from this morning! ^_^ (Still green! :D )

[HASHTAG]#nofear[/HASHTAG] @blue ...:headbang:

Hey AFN buddies

here is the latest installment of my journal and only 1 day since the last update

For all those that have been following my journal over the past couple of days, you already know there has been a big defoliation pending.
It has just got too jungly in there, i keep thinking i'll see a tiger any moment.
Well today was the day the girls got plucked and plucked like a spring chicken.
Furthermore is wasn't just a "defoliation" but an "extreme defoliation", otherwise known as "Schwazzing".

"Schwazzing" is a term made up by a Colorado weed growing company called "Three Lights" who on average have 7000 plants on the go at any one time and produce half a ton of dry weed a month.
I will show you a couple of videos of a a commercial "schwazzing" grow, which has been filmed in timelapse.
I will also post an excerpt from a grow guide site which also explain what "Schwazzing" is apart from being "Extreme Defoliation".

Extreme Defoliation: Schwazzing
Widely in use by certain industrial grow operation schwazzing is the process of removing nearly every fan leaf that grow on a plant at the beginning of the flowering stage, leaving only the top of every budsite intact. This method also involves some kind of lollypopping since every side branch is pretty much removed as well. Just leave the first 2 to 3 nodes from every branch intact.

Timelapse video of schwazzing in an industrial grow setup. These operation have a lot more light power per square meter than a common home grow. The lights can penetrate much deeper! Schwazzing a plant makes sense here.

Chocolope that got a lot of nodes removed, leaving up only the top of the plants, sortly before flowering.

The same plant in flowering: Branches full of buds!
Additional notes
I would not recommend schwazzing for every strain out there. There are alot of cannabis varieties that are able to put on serious weight on the side branches where you would harm more than you do good if you remove too much. Branchy indica type plants are very much content with selective defoliation while some other plants like to be cut more heavily. I suggest you.

Lemon Zkittle that got exposed to defoliation: You can see through the branching to the other side of the pot.
OI000257.jpg

A lot of Budsites are directly visible from the top view, since the light now got a free way down there.
OI000276.jpg

Areas that won't get direct light will be cut most.
Defoliation is a pretty harmless tech, since a plant will develop way more fan leafs than needed to survive. A grow tent is also an environment where the plant is enclosed and save enough so that it can deal with this harm without having to fight pests or difficult weather patterns while at it.

Copied & pasted from - http://homegrow-pro.com/defoliation-make-way-for-the-light/ If you want to read the whole artical on "Defoliation & Schwazzing" click the link.

OK that's the process in action and a couple of descriptions of what "Schwazzing is"!

So here are the pics of my grow post "Schwazzing", remember "Fortune favours the brave"! The following pictures may be shocking "Viewer Discretion Advised"!!ROFL

There is a whole lot more light getting to those lower bud sites now.
One of the ideas behind "Schwazzing" is that because Cannabis is a "Wind Pollinated" plant, it only puts bud production in to areas where Light and Wind can get to the bud sites. The plant is now opened right up and meaning wind and light can reach every part of the plant, The bud sites will now put on more flower and also lots of new leaves. It may be quite possible before crop time another defoliation will be needed but we wait and see!
For further info on "Schwazzing" just google "Schwazzing" and don't forget to share what you find with your pals!!

Now all we have to do is see how the girls fair and how it affects the bud structure.
Stay tuned and don't touch that dial, more updates coming soon!cincin

:thanks:

She'll get a heavy PK tonight!

She looks amazing! Organics baby...there is no other way to go once you get it right. It's just so much less stress, less work, and better quality in the end. Yield doesn't really suffer IMO either.

I love it. She's going to be so sweet!

PS, I agree that a light defol could have been done, and you could even lighten the load up a bit now, but I wouldn't at this point, as it might stall out some phase of flowering she is in now. Defol usually after week two or three of flower.

Looking so nice and plush though. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks Med :D We're on the home stretch now!! Three weeks .... maybe!?! ^_^
Looks like i'm gonna push her as far as i can!
