Hydro day 7.
Went to see Pearl Jam on Friday, got back Saturday. Checked the hydro AKR today and she has a root
Unfortunately she doesn't have a good grip in her net pot yet, the root grew sideways out of the riot cube and then down, so she falls over if she gets a little bump.
I've ordered some more hydroton as i don't have enough to block the light getting into the bucket :
Did res change today and cleaned everything, pH 5.9, EC 1.2.
The soil AKR is an indoor plant now because the wind has been constantly strong in my garden.
Was about to take photo but cam battery died, she doesn't look much different from last time, a bit taller and a bit darker.

So day 9 for the hydro AKR.
Cab temp 20C/30C.
Res temp 15C/24C.
May have to get a coolpack in there when the weather gets hotter.
Her PPM and pH have been steadily rising and i'm just observing her reaction to the changes.
The PPM has been 1160 for a couple of days now, which is an EC of around 1.6 !
The pH has risen to 6.3.
But she looks fine, maybe my pH meter is inaccurate but it's one a lot of people use.
This is her third day of root growth :
The soil AKR (which had a terrible start in life) is healthy but spindly, about 35CM (14 inches) tall. I don't expect much from her but it's no problem just having her growing in the loft, nice hashy smell
Just keeping an eye on hydro AKR and sussing out the limits.

ye the window faces NW so i have lights off from 3 until 9.
but once it starts getting higher ..
thinking it may be an idea to stand the bucket in a larger bucket that has water with coolpacks, so the roots don't get frozen.

Found another caterpillar on soil AKR.
I went to untangle a couple of leaves and found that they were stuck together.
I unstuck them to reveal a caterpillar going into chrysalis mode, you know, before they turn into flutterbys ;+}
Felt guilty but had to take off leaf and stick in garden, hope i didn't spoil it's mutation
