OLD REVIEWS Sour 60 Super Sensitive Strain

I think the lesson to be learned here is that putting a seed in a hot medium like FFOF is a risk. This has nothing to do with Sour 60 - it can happen with all auto strains and there are lots of posts all over the site talking about it. My latest grow I threw 4 different strains in FFOF mainly as an experiment, and two of them are thriving. The other two burned up and after another failed attempt I ended up growing them in a party cup with FFLW and they're doing fine. The thing is, one of the strains was Auto Assassin, and I can go out right now and find 10 different grow journals on the web where people germed it right in FFOF and it grew great. I had the opposite experience, but I'm not going to make blanket claims about the strain because of it.

If you want to avoid this in the future, pick up some FF Light Warrior or other seedling mix (I think FD uses Jiffy Starter Mix from Walmart) to start your plants in. If you don't want to transplant or use tiered planting, you can dig out a hole in your FFOF and put seedling mix into it. That will allow the seed to get up and running before it hits the hot soil.

I definitely understand your frustration and I've thrown quite a bit of cash down the drain on seeds that I never got to harvest. But it was all part of the learning experience. One thing that bothers me a little is you saying you're here to impress people and become a test grower & things like that. IMO, you should just have a goal of learning and coming up with the best grow you can right now. Things will only improve over time and who knows, you might end up pulling yields like the big boys someday. But it's a progression, and I think you're beating yourself up for no reason because most here have gone through the same thing. There was a thread here recently where many of the mods and most experienced growers were sharing stories about how bad they screwed up things when they were noobs. It happens, but it's not anything that can't be overcome. Just my :2cents:, brother. :peace:

After my first 3 burning I flushed the soil thats why im confused. I made sure to flush extra bc i didnt want these ones brunign either its not like i just stuck them in the soil right outta the bag like i did with the first 3. Im just comparing other strains i have going in my setup and they are thriving just saying if your new to growing, something other than sour60 would be a safer bet I bought sour60 because drautoflower said it would be a good strain to start with all Im saying is that its not a good first timer strain.

I have no experience with FFOF, but flushing medium with nutes in it already kind of defeats the purpose of flushing as you just release more food, but I could be wrong

So even after a good flsuh and i made sure the ph of the soil was good they still burned.....just saying too sensitive and finicky for a first timer.. who else can I impress if i cant tell anyone except evryone here who doesnt really know who I am I wanna show someone I did a good job lol. anyway i still stand behind what i said new growers photo or auto i wouldnt recomennd this strain unless like i said before in my previous posts if you dont have access to no ferted soil and have your setup and feeding schedule dialed in and your are confident that you wont mess them up. I said this before but evryone seems to be missing my point. LOL. But this is my point if your new to growing like me and have no idea how mj plants are let alone autos and im using what evryone else is using just saying not a good first time strain there are other strain that are more hardy and could handle abuse and the neglect first time growers often make.

+1 for canadian bud the nutrient in compost would have not been liquid fert
I bet if you used a starter cube than planted you would have been ok

@CB If what my shitty skills and research has led me to believe that yes flushing releases the food but you keep running enough water through the soil and all the food will be released and carried out by the water but i could be wrong since i have shitty and unrefined skills and absolutely no idea how to research any information.

The roots could have been too burned to recover. Or they might have been overwatered because they were more sensitive to water from being burned. Many suspect FFOF of being kinda inconsistent too. Only try to impress yourself and love your plants. Sorry for your loss.

Its an organic fert so if it contains bone hard guano wool horn manure ect it would have not washed out IMO

Lol thats what evryone seems to be missing go back and read my posts on this thread. Overwatered when i gave them 3ml of water only three times since they sprouted lol..i said that before now im repeating myself....burned i flushed the soil.....sigh someone give me something that I havnt already covered.

over feeding causes dehydration as the plant is trying to rid of excess nutrient
