Son of Hobbes tests Mars II 1600W 5W LED + Mars Grow Tent + Mephisto Genetics + Terrestrial Bean Com

Morning everybody! I've a question; is UVB necessary for this kind of light? I've read some of the threads on it and I know a few of my close grower friends on here have mentioned using them; I'm just curious if I should go grab some for the tent. What would be adequate for a 5 ft x 5 ft tent typically filled with many smaller plants (vs fewer larger plants?) Appreciate any suggestions!

IMO the gain is not worth the expense

I have no uvb supp. and I gorw sick resines plants under led SOH. In a 5x5 I personally would go with 2 1600 watter's but that is me. I have 1360 true watts in a five by five bro two different spectrums I love them and they are bright i need glasses too bro lol

1600 watts of led will out produce a 1000 watt old school easy SOH will prove that. Just a thought bro you might want to invest in some voo doo juice or green planet terpinator build that root mass right up bro. I hope iam not over stepping my boundries but I found a huge difference in growth and over all health when I went with supps. like I say the initial price sort of stings but when used half strength and only certain supps. at certain times one liter lasts a year plus while others go a little quicker. Just trying to help bro

You like that Voodoo Juice, Fairly? Expensive stuff; but if it's worth $30 for a small jug for a grow, might be willing to give it a shot. Have been looking at comparable products, at least. Are the makers of Green Planet affiliated with Rhyzotonic, I found another Terpinator product with the same name, different company.

When you use half strength it lasts for ever the voo doo if you grow a small amount of plants. As it was explained to me they are all benificial the supps. But cannot be a all in one hence so many supps. some can be repetitive but as you read on them you will learn what is needed and not. I startded out with there TEA advanced nutrients I thought every thing else was just a money making proposition for advanced nutrients. But I was wrong like I said the initial sting of the price is a ouch for sure but when you see how little you need for wicked results it is not really that expensive. I love growing weed and learning and passing it on I am never to old or to smart to learn something new as are you too SOH bro

Hey SoH, uvb will help you produce more resin, but our lights do not contain the spectrum, if you need it, you can add a T5 in the tent. :d5:

Tina Is there is no need for uvb in your lights to produce huge ass resinis plants?

Sorry friends, I made a mistake, the uvb has nothing to do with producing more resinis, it is 660nm light spectrum 's work. :tiphat:
As to uvb, they can sterilize the plants so the plants will grow more healthy.

Hi Tina

I think you mean UV-C, and not UV-B http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet_germicidal_irradiation

I am interested in knowing what your source is for "uvb has nothing to do with producing more resinis, it is 660nm light spectrum 's work" ?

It is being discussed here in a few threads, with no real scientific evidence either way.

Cheers

UVB has plenty of science to prove it is harmful to human eyes however there is only one published semi-scientific study with inconclusive results after UVB was applied to 2 test sativa plants.

One plant showed increased trich production where the UVB was strongest but they concluded that this was just as likely to be the plant's natural reaction to protect itself from what we think of as sunburn as there was no increase in any other area of growth.

I'm sure a lot more testing of UVB will come now that MJ is being legalised quite widely and commercial growers can fund research. I'm also guessing that employer's liability insurance would skyrocket if something potentially harmful to staff like UVB or CO2 was introduced to a workplace.

You are right, there is no real scientific evidence for the uvb at the moment. I double checked online today, and it seems there are many statements. Eitherway, we know that the right amount uvb light is a helpful to plants' growing.
