Son of Hobbes tests Mars II 1600W 5W LED + Mars Grow Tent + Mephisto Genetics + Terrestrial Bean Com

You're a dick. lol. Leave me alone. Gonna go straddle my HPS lights for good luck. Ride that cool tube around the room like a rocket! "WOO! REMEMBERIN' THE DAYS!" I've been staring at all these pictures of my past grows going "what the F, why is this happening?"

Notes notes notes! :hump:

I know this is nearly a month ago, but don't give up or loose heart. I've had 2 1/2 unsuccessful grows since January. I lost around 12 seeds, some of the really good ones from Spannabis too. Just do what I did ..go back to basics and what you know works and start again. :karmacloud:

Keep your head up.

Pop some more beans and lets get this Light Testing going again!

Iv been growing with Mars for a few years now. Its a big change going to leds. If you need any help or advice with the Mars Leds let me know il be glad to share my knowledge from what iv learned of the MarsHydros.

I may be picking your brains in the future :pass:

Hobbesey has a friend over at the moment who's helping with some manual labour type stuff, so he'll be back soon! :)

@Son of Hobbes - Bwaaahaha! :p Just kidding ^_^ - I call it the "big show jitters" - they only come around when everyones watching hehe

Remember to breathe... "a relaxed grower makes a happy plant" ... or something like that!

Hey fellas, appreciate the motivational comments! I had just a DEVIL of a time on this grow; it was pretty much the sum of all the stuff you probably shouldn't do in a grow that ended up biting me in the ass.

Reused some reused soil that had been reused prior (lot of reuse.)
Bought some cheap Pro-Mix from the hardware store that turned out to be FULLLLLL of bugs and pests (imagine that, right?) Learned how sweet diatomaceous earth can be though (thanks Dub!)

Ultimately it just kind of went to the wayside. Still have the plants in there; although they are stunty midgets lol. However, there's one, in all it's stunty midget glory, that does seem to be covered in trichs still  So, I guess, not a total loss, although it's going to barely enough to last a weekend when it's all said and done.

The light itself is still awesome. After the past couple months now; I've had ZERO issues with heat, even with the past week of days hitting over 98 degrees Fahrenheit. I've had terrible luck with seedlings under it (even with huge distances between the tops and the lamp,) so I think I'm going to stick with smaller, less intense lighting for those still.

I am juuuuust about into what I think is my complete equipment list for what is going to be my FIRST adventure into DWC and I'm popping new beans this weekend, so stick around for my SECOND led grow, or the First Grow Redux

On a side note, I have two photos (revegged) and some clones under the Mars light and they are doing quite well!

Working on getting my poop in a group and we'll be back off into it!

Pictures soon to come!

I'm using the Mars hydro 2 1200 watts I've just started leaving the light at the top of my tent about 6 foot with my pots being 10ltr airpots I'm about 4 and a half feet from my seedlings and no problems as yet just going to let them grow to the light see what happens :)

That was also recommended to me, putting the light at the very top of the tent and letting the plants grow up to it. I've got a bit I can still raise on it; I'll just stick it to the max and see what happens lol!

Son of Hobs, I've been using the MarsII 700 in 26" of vert space. My plants are always short which I attribute to the 5W LEDs. I've still pulled 80 gr plus off of my best plant. I think the LED just takes a bit to adjust to.

BTW I tape a piece of opaque photography filter paper over the light when I'm starting the plants to protect the seedlings.
