I have some AE's growing in 21 L buckets I use GH 3 part nutes. OK new to DWC and this is my second grow, my first, as Jackie said of JFK's death " These are things we do not talk about"

Well it was a rough and ready move from starter cube to DWC and my attempts at LST may well have caused the stunted growth or maybe the clay pebbles or rockwool was an issue? Any way i am quite happy with their size and possible yields ( they are in a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0 tent under 600w MH then 600 W HPS 18 on 6 off

I seem , again !!, to have 2 very different phenos, one is stretchy and looks like a sativa and had developed loads of false seed pods, the other id bushy more like an indica though it has loads of buds, these are more bushy, classic looking

I have had zero leaf issues with these plants so far, there is a bit of burn on one when it hit a light but otherwise not a single blemish in 67 days I have been amazed at this. I have been giving them silicon and that may be the cause of the rich lushness.

they seem to be able to take as much nutes as i want to throw at them, i have been steadily raising the EC and they now take EC 2.2 ( after adjusting for tap water which is at 0.9 so my reading is 3.1)

I am only full bloom nutes with a tiny amount of N as they look so lush, maybe N overdose ? I am PK boosting them once a week and have been adding extra bloom ever other day as I still see no leaf burn

Now at day 67 I have only about 18 days left and the leaves look nowhere near aged, are the flowers on schedule ? When do you think I should start flushing ? I am so tempted to just keep feeding them more and more but I think I should ease up now As for the 2 different flower looks do you think it will affect potency

Leaf tucking is a real treat, the smell is intoxicating

I am using buckets with holes in the lids for the net pots andi find the plants don't have a lot of grip. I think i will buy some net pot lids as these should be more robust. I think I also need to place the cubes on a thin later of clay pebbles and then back fill, my cubes are to near the surface, i can see them and they are not firmly set

In saying that I am thinking for a next grow to plan my LST out better, i need some way to firmly fix the base of the plant stem, maybe with string attached to the tent poles ? this way as i train the tops over i can try and keep the base in place.

In my "false seed pod" plant, notice I go on about this since my lastgrorw hermied and I have great fears of a rerun. err where was I, oh yes the plant, well i tried to LST it and it cam out as a sort of Bonsai look, the place pulled out quite a bit from the pot and lent over so now I have a main cola and another cola which is even larger and numerous very good colas. clearly the phenome for LST ids this typical sativa, the other plant looks interesting, there is a lot of bud inside the canopy and I may well have to harvest in stages. Due to my Hermie fear I will not defoliate this one until the end days

I think you're worrying about nothing! Those plants look SUPER healthy, and you should be proud of them! You should start flushing those plants a week or 2 before you're planning to cut them down. And by flush, I mean drain their reservoirs and give them nothing other than pH'd water. Cheers, and looking forward to some harvest pics!

OK i will lower nutes gradually this week and flush for the last 2

well if you're going to taper off the nutes, then 2 weeks i think is going to be excessive. i'd say that upper window of 2 weeks is if you've been going balls to the walls (lots of nutrients) right up to the flush, since the leaves will have a LOT of stored food. If you're going to taper down to zero nutes, one week should be more than enough since the leaves will slowly be yellowing as you scale back the nutrients. personally, i'm a fan of the balls to the walls method until the last 1.5 weeks or so, then just water and watch autumn happen before your eyes :p However, i'm by no means a hydro expert - i've only got a couple grows under my belt, so it might be worth checking with some seasoned veterans.

Thanks, I have 3 plants 2 are decent sized and one is a neat little dwarf. It was germed in a cube then transplanted to a pot which had very little soil. It really has not drunk much in 68 days but is quite healthy and has a few good buds. Testing yesterday quick dried was a good smoke.

I think next change on the dwc i will go 1/2 strength, i do change each bucket out twice a week, so I can quickly get to zero nutes without actually have an immediate full to zero.

Looking forward to Autumn

Day 76

Buds do not look near to finishing I hope the next 10 days is a bud surge but with my luck doubt it !!

Day 80, trichs still clear i think this may well go past the 85 days stated by DP

Anyone got a definitive answer on this one : do we count harvest date from first day of germination, first day of seedling emerging or first day of flowering ? DP state that AE is harvested at 85 days from "seed" yet my plants are 90 days from seed germination and are still showing mostly clear trichs, some milky with no amber. I have been using 18/6 lighting single 600w HPS in DWC
