Photoperiod Soma's NYCD & GHSCo's Great White Shark

Here we go! I had some NYCD in Amsterdam in 2007 that tasted like a super intense ripe red grapefruit. Hoping to find a good stinky pheno. Always wanted to grow these two, finally getting around to it.

I remember the NYCD in Coffeeshop 420 back in 2008. Banging smoke. I'm also pretty sure I tried some of the great white shark in Greenhouse Haarlemerstraat and possibly in The Dolphin back in the day too or was that sharks breath?

I'm not long back from Amsterdam and found that all the old school genetics are more than likely not the same as 10/15 years ago. New school stuff is nice enough but they are really starting to take the piss with prices. 30 euro for a gram of supposed "cali weed". I tried a strain called Clenz? and yeah it was nice but not 30 euro nice.

Ended up going south to Coffeeshop DNA and getting a strain called Frosted Cherry Cake for 13.50 and it was as good if not better than the Clenz.

Anyway, enough of my ranting. Look forward to watching this grow.

I'd love to make a trip back there! Did the cup in 2007. Way too busy. Always found myself wandering and checking into the lesser known, locals-type shops. The blueberry and the cheese from the noon were well worth the walk and wait. Good times!

Get yourself back over if you can. Amsterdam is still a beautiful and magical place but most of the old coffeeshops have lost their charm and become somewhat sanitized and similar looking.

I remember the blueberry from Noon, it was really nice (I thought the owner was a cunt). Sorry to tell you, its no more. Its now called Terps Army 2. Still get decent blueberry from 420.

As for cheese the best place back in the day was Homegrown Fantasy. What a gem of a coffeeshop. Again no more and sadly not even a coffeeshop.

I got harassed at customs on my way home last time. Lmfao... Had a copy of the movie midnight express in my laptop bag and I spent the morning at a Rasta coffeeshop smoking all my leftovers before I got on the train back to schipol. Came home to Detroit reeking of bud. They didn't find a thing! Hahahaa...

For sure, I'd love to check out zans schanns and some of the other cities/villages. Got to get a couple of kids grown up a bit more though, my kids scare the hell out of my family. Hence - no help!

Been there, done that with customs in UK. Doesn't help when you stink of weed and look like Howard Marks.

The whole of Holland is absolutely beautiful. It's my happy place and I always feel good when I'm there. I've been to quite a few places other than Amsterdam. Hopefully soon I will be going on a 1 or 2 week driving holiday around Holland with the other half and taking in as many small towns and villages as I can.

I think that's why I don't have kids yet. I've seen the horrors and been able to run away.

I don't get any hassle at airports anymore. I still look like Howard Marks but generally don't stink of weed anymore.

If the Mrs is travelling with me she seems to get the hassle. I think they think she's my drug mule or something?

Germination on the GWS has been very slow, thinking 3 of them are dead in the water. I've never had so many issues with germing beans. Used to be when I'd drop taps into the dirt they'd be up in 2 days. I've found myself trying to uncover these to check for duds.

Nycd all popped up. Very happy to see that the $20 beans are performing. I'll probably order some more gws or throw in a couple skunk heros from jean-o's photo line.
