I decided against dropping a bean that I soaked for about 12 hours. There was no visible tap root, however a teeny tiny air bubble was present on the seam of the seed. Will this seed go bad?

Further, will this seed be ok to store and re-soak? Or, should I just drop it in the medium some time in the future, if I decide to plant it?

No idea, but I would guess you may have to throw it away.

I don’t have a lot of experience with it but my instinct tells me that you started the germ process, if you tried to store it away in a dark place the root will probably pop out... if not you may be safe.

You have started the Germination process, no going back.

Give it time, no rush. Some seeds take a little longer.

I had a bunch of very weak not matured photo seeds that I dropped in water for a laugh to see what would happen.
36 hrs later, have one tap root and another cracking. These are very weak seeds, didn't think any would pop.

Unless you are on your last seed(s), have no means for new seeds, and a very urgent schedule.

You could move it into a paper towel and continue from there, if you're worried that full immersion in water not good.
Can add a drop or two of H2O2 hydrogen peroxide which will keep the water more free from infection.

I think op is having a change of heart about germing the seed in general. I'm pretty sure he wants to dry the seed and try to store it,for however long until he commits to growing... Thats what I got out of the post at least. I would think that since its begun soaking in water it has started ths germ process.... I'm not 100 percent but I'm fairly confident that that seed shoild either be grown out or tossed in the garbage. I wouldnt think you would be able to store a seed that has been hydrated.

I could be wrong though, this is an odd question lol

One of my seeds took 2-3 days other took hours. Patience

I read it like you do, started, now wanna stop...

Germination started, you've already committed. You can't dry it off and put it back in the cuboard.
