Shes chopped, roughly trimmed and put into paper bags hanging in my grow box.
About 90g wet.
How much do you think it will be dry?

Main cola was 42g wet.
Main cola got its own paper bag.
The rest are in other bags covering the bottom of the bags.
5 bags total.
Bags are folded over 2-3 times and closed with a paper clip, i made sure there is room above the buds in the bags.

I think temp will be around 75f and rh 45% with no lights on.
Still have fans on in the box i had on during the grow.
Im thinking i can put it all in a jar for burping in about 5-7days?
I will look into this more. Let me know what you all think.

@Noob420 the bud i tested had too much leaf in it and it was from one of the lower buds that wasnt fully developed (most people would have put it in the trim pile i think)so it tasted leafy kind of i guess.
Wasnt really a proper piece of bud, got me stoned though.
I still have some bud that i bought, so i will use that until its gone so that my NL has a chance to dry and cure properly.
I may just have to try a piece of the NL tonight though since you asked.:smoking:

We're going to need a smoke report on that little piece of NL.

Yes you can just leave the lid off, its what i do for my small jars, but at 82% there still quite wet, so throwing them back into bags was good. As for mold when it occurs it's typically already a problem before you even chop the plant down, and then that can get worse if the buds are kept at high RH for weeks on end, but you should be fine.

As example the Think Different i chopped Friday i just threw into a jar yesterday after snipping the buds off the stem, it was a bit too soon to do so as i was in the high 70% range, but i knew i was gonna be early anyways, so they're currently in the jar with the lid off till then get in the low 70% range which could be possibly tonight and then the lid will get put back on to sweat the bud and equalize the RH and then slowly dropped down to 60%.

I now know for my next harvest it will take about 5 days in paper bags to dry and then about another week of burping in the jar to reach the 60-65% rh cure zone.
I will be adding a boveda 62 to the jar in a few days, the jar has just barely reached the cure zone.

Im in the process of calibrating my hygrometer with one of those boveda one step calibration kits. Should have a accurate reading in the next 24 hrs.

So far the bud doesnt really have a great smell, a little grassy like what i read about people describing before a proper cure. Dont expect a very strong smell with northern lights anyway.

It did have a very nice fruit smell when i first put it in the jar when it wasnt dry enough yet. I hope this smell comes back with the cure.

As of now the vape taste is hard to describe, the first hit on the vape has a decent taste but after that its a weird unpleasant taste. Its almost like the bud isnt dry enough for the vape yet. I have to turn the heat setting higher than before with other bud i had bought.

its a nice relaxing indica stone. Puts me to sleep well.

Will update again after a cure and will add pics.
Might do a more detailed smoke/grow report after a good cure.

yeah sounds like its just a bit wet, the curing will help with the taste and smell over more time, but the smell probably won't come back unless you're breaking up the buds, as if it's already releasing those odor compounds before putting them into a jar then they are already off gassing thus causing the smell, and over time those compounds will dissipate, its all just another thing to learn and fine tune, also some plants just don't smell good whether before or after a cure, mind you a lot of that is personal taste, like how people can like buds that smell like cat piss always makes me wonder about humanity lol.

Its not a strong smell but when i open the jar its a kind of a spicey smell with a hint of sweetness i guess.

Taste when vaped is also improving. Hard to describe the taste. First toke on the vape is the best. Spicey and a little sweet with floral tones.

Very nice stoney, relaxing indica effect. Helps me sleep easy.

Im very happy with my first harvest. Thanks again AFN.

May I guess 25g afterwards. What was your actual dry yield?
