By luck @2Stoned2Care popped a @zambezaseeds White Cheese bean 3 days after I did, we are not in a grow off but are using this bit of luck to compare grows and basically see his DIY COB build out strip my Mars burple LED's on generally everything.

My burple set up - 1x 600w Mars classic and 1x Mars 96 reflector (300w)... my guessing on actual draw power 300-400w quite possibly much lower.
2Stoned2care - 200w DIY citizen clu-48-1212s cobs 4000k... equivalent to 4 of my Mars 600w classic

There have been factors in the start of my grow but I really don't think they have affected my plant much, she has not slowed.
You can see a massive difference, the node spacing on the COB's is so much better, a good 1" spacing. A much better colour and a over all a bigger and lusher plant. Even if mine had the best start I don't think it would be this far ahead.
We shall look again in 5 day or so.

I so can't wait and I never expected to get them this early in the year, soon as they arrive I will start a DIY thread.
Now the question is what wonderful plant is going to get the first full grow under them...

Subbed, I love threads from Europe, saves me all the math with measurements weights and temps.
Great read, curious about COB as well but it seems really hard to find or too expensive in Europe. And I want to avoid the customs clearance at all costs!

I was original looking at stuff like this, sure its gonna work and its a pretty good price but it's not the best cobs and the drivers are bound to be the cheapest...as far as my understanding of COB's is matching the drive with the right cobs for the best efficiency... seriously for the price you're gonna pay for that you could build a 100w cob your self which would out strip that any day... have you looked at cobkits.com or timbergrowlights.com ?
