Mephisto Genetics Seymourbud's Soapbox

Next is the Menage a Tyrone x Double Grape. What can I say except this girl is at day 41 and she is starting to reek. Not just when you jostle her, but when you open the cabinet she is in your face saying "Hello"! You'll see the of the discolored leaves that I discussed in the earlier post, but for the most part that has stopped. I have done some defoliation with her, not near as much as with Strawberry Nuggets. She has very good structure and is basically open enough to let air pass through her middle. She is starting to stack and create cola's. She started her flowering on day 25, so she is really starting her 3 full week of flower. She is performing pretty well at this point. I am hoping to get 2-3 zee's from this girl, and I am thinking she will go 80-85 days.

And lastly is my Sour Crack. She was the seed I tossed aside when she didn't germinate in 6 days. I tried to germinate a Beary White, and lost that one due to her not being able to release her cap (seed shell). I put germinating seeds on hold, and when I came back, the sour crack had miraculously germinated. I have adjusted her timing to reflect her late start, ad she is at day 28 of life. Flowering began at day 25. It's a bit early to tell what she will be, and since I have never grown a Sour Crack, I am not sure what to expect. She was really slow during her veg, and I attributed that to the abuse she received in her beginnings. She was so slow infact, that I actually had thoughts about culling her. I didn't, and now I am glad that I didn't as she is really starting to take off over the past 7-10 days. She is not very tall at just under 10", but she does have at least 6-8 budsites forming. Not sure how many more I will find if I open her up, but she may just be left to grow with no intervention from me due to her rough start (except for some leaf tucking). She hasn't started with Bud Explosion yet, maybe the next watering I will create a new gallon for her since she is in flowering now. Not much to see right now, except deep green foliage from the MC.

Good Morning everyone. I had a few minutes today alone, so I decided to take the girls out into the sun to capture some photos for documentation. I fixed the camera settings this time.

For the most part, there has been nothing about this grow out of the ordinary. I did have some serious nute reaction on one of the girls, but I quickly adjusted and it doesn't seem to have caused any long-term damage other then her outward appearance on her leaves. Just for info-sake, this is a grow being done totally with MC and MC add-ons as well as a few add-ons that were leftover from previous grows. So there is no roadmap to what I am doing when. Since the Strawberry Nuggets is 8 days older, and has had no negative reaction to the feed and schedule that I have been creating and using, I felt it safe to give to her 8 day younger sibling (Menage a Tyrone x Double Grape). Well, I was soon reminded that each plant is its own entity and has to be dealt with as such. I am documenting the nute/feed schedules for each of my girls for future references.

The basis of my feed and feeding schedule is MegaCrop, Sweet Candy, and Bud Explosion. They are all Greenleaf Nutrient products. Other amendments I have been using occasionally (not in every gallon I make), are MammothP, GH CalMag, and Recharge+.

So lets get going with the pictures and notes;

Strawberry Nuggets (Purple Pheno): I have done (for me) some serious training in order to open her up to get some light into the center of the plant. I am trying to avoid larfy popcorn buds. I was shocked at the number of budsites buried in the inside of the plant. I am hoping that the ~30 days I have left are enough to have her fill out those budsites. Right now, she has a non-descript berry aroma that is only there when you jostle her around. She really hasn't gotten any taller, she is just shy of 12". I have done some serious defoliation of the lower fans and inner leaves blocking budsites. While humidity in my cabinet is something I am not too concerned with, I felt opening her up to keep buds from getting budrot was the way to go for me. I am hoping for 1.5 to 2 zee's from this girl.

I have not tried Bud Explosion, but do use MC and Sweet Candy. I do alternate btw Sweet Candy and Flower Fuel. Flower fuel has just given me evidence of a quicker response with flowers. Also use Big Bud to fatten up.
Will have to try Bud Explosion, i do like your results!!

dear Seymourbud, I need a smoke report on your double grape that looks amazing. It is on my list for the next Mephisto grow with the HubbaBubba too. I'm wanting to start back up sooner than later after seeing your photos. Great job.

Thanks @MrGoat , I also have Flower Fuel leftover, but since it is basically used for the same thing that Bud Explosion is used for, I have chosen to not use for the forseeable future. I did like the results I got when using FF, so I will not be giving up on it. Just easier to use the Greenleaf line of nutes and add-ons as a whole when it is available. Less chance of problems I am hoping. Those ties are 12" chenile ties found at Staples 50 or 100 for a couple of dollars. Well worth it imo.

Yep agree 100%.
Thanks for the tip on the ties.

Good Morning, I thought I would post an update on my girls. This has been a very trouble-free process, girls look good (except for the burn or nute lockout I caused by pushing the feeding to early on the Manage a Tyrone x Double Grape which has since been corrected.) and they are starting to really stack and fatten up. Not much else to say, so let's get to the pictures:
