Mephisto Genetics Seymourbud's Soapbox

I remember reading about the area51 LED's back at the icmag when I was there, and trying to understand what all the fuss was about with these new LED's. I also remember being totally confused by all the specifications and I could never figure out what spec were important, and which ones were not. We are lucky to have @BigSm0 and his straight forward no-nonsense approach to lighting. Probably one of the best decisions I ever made. It kept me from wasting $$ on inferior lighting solutions.

This is a Sour Crack I have going now. I tried to germinate and after waiting almost a week, gave up onit. But instead of removing it to the trash, I pushed it off to the side of the solo cup with the intent to germinate a new seed in the cup. I didn't germinate a new seed in that cup, but because I left that cup in the cabinet under my T8 fixture, when I went back a couple days later the banished seed had sprouted. It had a bit of a rough start trying to shed its seed case and hardly had any growth in its first few days, but now it seems to be gaining some momentum. She is getting MC at 3g/gal along with SC at .5g/gal, and Recharge+ at 1tsp/gallon along with a bit of extra CalMag 1ml//gal. She is at day 16 (adjusted) in the pictures. If she lives a full and happy life and gives me a small taste of the Sour Crack, then I will be happy.

Whats the toothpick for? Testing moisture under surface for watering?

Nah, pretty simple actually, when I plant the seed after soaking it for 12-18 hours, I put a small bit of soil over it to help keep it moist under the cfl's. I then spray with a water bottle sprayer to help keep the soil moist. Some of the seeds are so tiny, that I started putting a toothpick right next to the seed in the event that I needed to uncover it again to see why it wasn't germinating. Just forgot to pull the toothpick and trash it after it sprouted.

Got it. I had to do seed searching before and never could pinpoint exactly where she was. Thats a nice little tip.

Got a few pictures outside of my purple pheno Strawberry Nuggets under the big orange bulb in the sky. One problem, whoever used the camera last in my house had the setting on "vivid", and I didn't notice until after I put everything away and reviewed the pictures. There worth a glance. Day 42, maybe 30-35 days to go. Almost time to start another seed.

Well, the next round is three plants. Thats what my cabinet can hold. So, in no particular order, these will be the three seeds to be sprouted next: Strawberry Nuggets, Bum Wine, and Grape Walker Kush. They are all 65-75 day strains. Right now I have a Strawberry Nuggets, Sour Crack, and a Menage a Tyrone f2 x Double Grape f3 going. They will all be done by the first week of September hopefully.
