Mephisto Genetics Seymourbud's Soapbox

Just a quick update on my pollen chucking...

So the pollen sacs are starting to open and drop pollen from the 3 Stone Dragon males in the breeding cabinet. I have begun to collect pollen from each plant and keep them separated. Not sure I will get enough from each of them singularly, so I was thinking after I polleninate the female [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] with the male I have chosen, then I would just collect and store the remainder of the pollen from the 3 males and keep it all in the same vial? Is this a bad idea? I know I will have a mix of traits from each of the males, but at this point their smell and uniformity of growth, and branching are very identical for two of them ([HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] and [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG]), while the [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG] male is 3-4" taller. Doesn't appear to be a discernible difference other then the height of [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG]. Puffs of pollen on the leaves right now as I would say only 3-5% of the sacs have opened. I would like to free the cabinet up for the next round of plants, Mephisto females that will be spewed in Stone Dragon pollen, by the beginning of March.

I am thinking of using 3 smallish females for the pollen chucking; Gold Glue, Blue Toof Special, and 24 Carat. These will be hit with the Stone Dragon pollen to create my first 3 crosses. Pictures in a couple of days...
I have no breeding expierence but I’m liking the crosses you want to do!!! :eyebrows:

Thanks, looking for some heavy indica for sleeping issues. Both the Gold Glue and BTS by themselves are very good. And if I didn't have male autoflower pollen available, I would probably be using CS to make a male out of them in order to make some more seeds. But, everything about Stone Dragon seems to be on-point with what I have in mind, and I have (or will have) more than enough pollen. SD taken really long is supposed to be very narcotic in effect, so I am liking the idea of matching it up with those Mephisto ladies.

Gotta love the airpots!!

Day 45 update (except for Sweet & Sour which Day 27).

I have been collecting pollen from 3 male Stone Dragons to 1.) pollinate a Stone Dragon female, and 2.) pollinate several Mephisto varieties that I use as nighttime meds.
I dusted the SD female yesterday, and I have pistils turning brown, so I guess I was successful. I think I have enough leftover pollen from 3 combined to dust a few Mephisto strains I intend to run next. I am still collecting pollen at this point, but will start the three Mephisto seeds I intend to pollinate and I need to space that the SD males are using, so the clock is ticking for them to finish up spewing their pollen. I will need that space (in the breeding cab) in the next 7-10 days.

So I took some photo's to share with those who have knowledge of making seeds and those who have never done this so you can learn ( hopefully not from my mistakes.).
Chime in if you have questions or advice. Now to the pictures...

Yep, agree @MrGoat, thanks. Glad I didn't stunt them (too much) with my nute mixup early in their life cycle. I can only assume when I get this MegaCrop v2.0 figured out, which I am in the process of doing, things will only get much better. I am currently adding BE (and GH CalMagic) to a base solution of MC@2grams and SC@1.5grams, trying to keep ppm's between 500-600ppm. I keep monitoring the plants to see when I have pushed too far. This should help me with future plants down the line. Also glad I purchased some extra Ghost Toof along with Sweet & Sour. Never can have too much (my hoarding mentality kicking in).

Give Green Planet a shot sometime when u have breathing room, no more worries about the Cal-Mag. @slowandeasy is doing a side by side grow of MC and GP.
I liked the MC, I just like the GP better, never used MC2.
Slow called Green Planet and talked with them about MediOne, Rezin and Massive. I am using MediOne, W-8, Massive and Finisher. I still use Greenleaf nutrients Bud Explosion which is fantastic stuff!

Thanks @Dabber . You said it right @MrGoat , "...when I have some breathing room...", things have been happening fast and furious of late around here. I am interested in the Green Planet line, just so hard to pass on the cost of the Greenleaf line. I think I might have $30-$40 in the Greenleaf products, and I have enough to continue to grow for another year, or at least the rest of this year.
