self pollinating to create more seeds.

The CS thread is a great tool!! Getting setup this comming week to start my breeding tent. Just make sure when you get ready to make that jump, keep your breeding well away from your grow area. Dont want a million seeds and a tent full of seeded out ganja!! The breeding area will be out in my garage, and dont forget to wash up good before going from each area to the next!!:thumbs:

I am limited with space at the moment so I am not sure I can set up my other tent just yet.

This is my experimental grow with auto's so I hope to make all my mistakes this time.

My plan is to get one branch to grow balls and cut off the branch and put it in a glass of water In another room before the pollen flys and harvest pollen and store it when its ripe and knock up another plant when I get another female ready.

I am sure I will screw up something along the way so guess a thousand seeds wont be that bad

I too am planning to do some version of selfing. Related to this project (as I'm new to this) how long do cuttings take to root before I can spray with CS? And how long would it take to turn pre-flowers back into maleish organs that can produce pollen?

start spraying when you get pre flower/ pistols and spray 1-2 times a day fro roughly 20 days. It takes 5-6 weeks for the seeds to mature and take em when they start to open their pods. this answer is in theory as I have never done it, but from what I have read, that is the jist. Someone else who has done it can chime in if I am wrong.:thumbs:

That's the protocol. I am wondering about the clone issue as well. I know I have been down this road before but if anyone can point me to a thread on how exactly to clone an auto I would really appreciate it. I wonder if there would be enough time to root it and then start spraying to change to get pollen... Seems like everything would need to go right in step with everything else, and each strain has different times. Does anyone have any info on this?

Perhaps start spraying it first and cut the clone as its starting to show and try root it if it dies you might still get pollen best case scenario you get seeds.

I know you aren't supposed to consume a plant that has any CS applied to it but if it's just one branch I would use it, actually planning on it with my current plant. You would waste two branches on the plant but in the end if you just used the bottom ones you would be loosing two branches that just produce larf anyways.

You are planning on pollinating a clone with pollen from it's clone? If you do please post results. I honestly think that is the same as pollinating the plant without bothering rooting a branch in a different pot. Seems like a waste of time since the genetics are the same. The seeds shouldn't be able to be distinguished between a plant pollinated by itself or it's clone.

I've had 100% bad results from the two s1's I've tried one was a seed that was over $25! Ecsd s1. And the other one was a northern lights I selfed myself using STS and the above method, reversed a clone and pollenated a sister clone... Also got hermies in the offspring... It's sorta has put me off from selfing and has made me realize also the purple chem auto I am working is an all fem line, so I purchased both the reg verisions of what makes up the purple chem to throw back some male vigor in the mix....
A plant that pollenates itself from being reversed by one branch i think would potentially stress the plant hence the seeds from the same plant (not another one of it clones) possibly would cause more hermies in the off spring? either way it's good practice to make your own beans so you have a good supply of stock you don't care about and can experiment and dial your grow in without wasting expensive seeds...

The only way to make S1 seeds with an auto is to take a clone first, then reverse either the clone or the original plant and pollinate the other.
If the clone lives and the timing works out properly you can make fem S1's. I always encourage experimenting but this has been done so much its like trying to prove the earth is flat.. The earth is round and you cant PROPERLY make fem seeds by selfing a partially reversed auto. simply use two plants, reverse one and make fem seeds with the other.
