New Grower Second Timer - DP Auto Night Queen In DWC

Yep, that was the unexplained phenomena that kept perplexing me each grow with these led lights. I never had an issue with my old hps because that has a ton of UVA, UVB, and UVC, all then stuff that triggers those genetics and self defense mechanism in the plants. That's why my buds haven't all been as tasty as before when I had the hps only. Twenty years growing that way...now led lights and the unknowns yet what they offer or don't and ho we can get the best spectrum for our buck. The light I am buying costs nearly $200, but tbh I have heard that the Reptisun is totally effective in a tent grow and gives both UVA and UVB light.

All led guys need to make the switch, that will be the new trend and we can get it on that early. That's what makes a hobby like this so much fun, and with all of us cooperating, the rate at which the collective can grow better stuff should increase with time. I guess that means we will all be growing perfect, stinky, tasty, buds with max yields in no time. I think I am getting a little closer each grow.

I just ordered the Reptisun 10. Only because it will get here quicker, and had awesome reviews. I want to get it in as soon as possible if it means even 10% more terpenes and trichomes! You had me at hello. Love these girls and want to help them be the best tasting weed possible. And for less for $30? I am on board!

I am planning to just add to the same lighting schedule for a truly full spectrum. What do you think?

I dont normally chime in on stuff with growing but I think this article may be useful. Its a bit of a read but just to summarize. When it comes to LEDs, white light should be your main as it brings a balance across the par spectrum, than feel free to supplement with narrow spectrum uv-a/b lighting for desired effects. Also if interested in any info pertaining to LEDs this site is a very good source. I have worked with the company directly and can safely say they have the studies to back up there claims. https://fluence.science/broad-spectrum-vs-narrow-spectrum-rediscovering-white-light/

Happy growing mates ! :vibe:

Good read, Colorado! Thnaks for chiming in!

Sweet, yep the Reptisun 10.0 is the one to get for sure. I am actually thinking I might go that way as well. Maybe I don't need the big light right now, and from what I read, and there are some conflicting ideas, the plant only needs a little burst of the UV light from day one of flower. One hour the first day, and the. Ramp up 30 minutes or so every three days until plants show signs of stress or you reach about five hours a day. That should be more than enough UV light for the plants to trigger the defense response and create more thc and oils. Some say use it almost all the time, one expert says you can use i to just the last two weeks of flower and that is enough. :coffee2:

I can tell you this. I just ran the light I have with the UV in it on that Fruit Punch and I could smell a difference in ten days. The science is clear on this though. Definitely a minimum of 5% increase in both thc and resin production, and can be up to as much as 40% in one study...totally cool stuff, and exactly what I have been looking for and missing in some of my led grows, and could t figure out why the terps weren't as good as I would like. My friends say it's the best dope they ever smoked, but I have had better and still have some in jars from my hps days that are better than most of this led stuff from the last few years.:nono:

This should be a game changer for sure!

Cool! I get it Saturday, and will put it in the cabinet, and let it start at a couple hours a day to see how the plant responds. I will increase or decrease from there. Queen 1 may only have three weeks left, so it is a perfect time to try this! Queen 2 will be longer by at least a week, but maybe more.

If you really want to add UVB you should look at AgroMax Pure UVB far superior to reptile bulbs. I just ran The AgroMax 10000K plus UVA t5 and the improvement in aroma and terpenes is huge. I own and have run the Pure UVB in the past and I think the 10000K plus UVA is better.

MOG, I couldn’t fit that in my little space. Hopefully this will be enough for this grow. I can look at a unit like that when I upgrade grow space!

I agree with @Mañ'O'Green , that light is superior, but from what I have read, the Reptisun was rated by more than one site to be the best value for money spent, not best performing. The AgroMax, California Lightworks, and the Cirrus Reflex UVB that costs $500, are the top performing devices. Agromax bulbs are awesome, but I can not get them in Europe anywhere, even through their so called European distributor that doesn't really exist.

I can get the California Lightworks and the Reflex bar, and the CL version costs only around 150$. The Reptisun will perform about 50% of the others, but mostly in penetration and intensity. One guy said just to move the light around the tent in different positions relating to the plants and they will get a better coverage and you can expose the plant longer. This was all research I did after the help I got from manogreen. I juts couldn't get the bulbs he suggested...:crying:

Sounds like some great equipment, and I am making a note for the future. Definitely out if my league for the time being. Hoping for some gain from the Reptisun!

Hey bro! Just make sure you go on YouTube and watch a video about how the lights are used. There are a number of videos there. For your size tent, that light is good. Plus, this isn't just any reptile bulb, there were a number of experts that said this bulb works great and has a sufficiently amount of both UVA and UVB to get the job done in tent grows, especially smaller ones like yours.
I GUARANTEE IT WORKS! Too many good growers out there use it. I knew about it and studied this a little prior to going to led, but I was assured the cobs could do the trick, and they can, but they miss out on some serious oil and thc production potential.
I chopped that Fruit Punch that had been under the UV light for ten days, and it has more smell than any of the other strains while is is there hanging right now. I am totally sold that this was the reason I was inconsistent with my results under led in terms of overall flavor. All of the strains I have grown in the last three years under led have been best when under one of the two lights that had the UV built in, and not the cobs. Especially the one light that this run I never even put in the tent!! I won't use it because it uses too much power , and will find another UV solution.
You will love it. I want to see!! Give me a photo of the ladies up close! I want to see the structure. Although I am sure you got the SB milkshake, I am also interested in which other pheno you got.

The Reptisun 10.0 gives you 20" of light penetration from the bulb, so you should get near full penetration of you ladies. Not really sure how far away to set it at first, check the videos. This is not only a pure UVB light, in fact is has 10% UVB, and 30% UVA, in the spectrum that should help trigger the response we want. I would move it around the tent as much as you can a small well to get different angles and better penetration on the lower nugs as well. Buds closer to the light will have higher thc levels than those farther away. All of this has been tested and proven already, I just hadn't done the research before.

You know me man, I am a little anal about details and once I know a little about something, I have to know all there is to know or it will drive me crazy. I have researched this heavily and have high expectations. I am jealous. Because I know that SB milkshake is going to taste so good already, and with the boost it will be awesome. Mine was under a cob, so the flavor wasn't as strong. It was good, but I can imagine it being stronger, and that will be awesome!
