New Grower Second Timer - DP Auto Night Queen In DWC

Hey bro! Just make sure you go on YouTube and watch a video about how the lights are used. There are a number of videos there. For your size tent, that light is good. Plus, this isn't just any reptile bulb, there were a number of experts that said this bulb works great and has a sufficiently amount of both UVA and UVB to get the job done in tent grows, especially smaller ones like yours.
I GUARANTEE IT WORKS! Too many good growers out there use it. I knew about it and studied this a little prior to going to led, but I was assured the cobs could do the trick, and they can, but they miss out on some serious oil and thc production potential.
I chopped that Fruit Punch that had been under the UV light for ten days, and it has more smell than any of the other strains while is is there hanging right now. I am totally sold that this was the reason I was inconsistent with my results under led in terms of overall flavor. All of the strains I have grown in the last three years under led have been best when under one of the two lights that had the UV built in, and not the cobs. Especially the one light that this run I never even put in the tent!! I won't use it because it uses too much power , and will find another UV solution.
You will love it. I want to see!! Give me a photo of the ladies up close! I want to see the structure. Although I am sure you got the SB milkshake, I am also interested in which other pheno you got.

Definitely, man. I am getting some cloudy trichs on the milkshake, less on the spice. Will take pics and update this weekend. I am also going to do some more research on the lights and watch the vids you mentioned. I am unclear just how long I can start them to begin with in my space and want to see some opinions on that. Excited to see how it helps in these final weeks.

The Reptisun 10.0 gives you 20" of light penetration from the bulb, so you should get near full penetration of you ladies. Not really sure how far away to set it at first, check the videos. This is not only a pure UVB light, in fact is has 10% UVB, and 30% UVA, in the spectrum that should help trigger the response we want. I would move it around the tent as much as you can a small well to get different angles and better penetration on the lower nugs as well. Buds closer to the light will have higher thc levels than those farther away. All of this has been tested and proven already, I just hadn't done the research before.

You know me man, I am a little anal about details and once I know a little about something, I have to know all there is to know or it will drive me crazy. I have researched this heavily and have high expectations. I am jealous. Because I know that SB milkshake is going to taste so good already, and with the boost it will be awesome. Mine was under a cob, so the flavor wasn't as strong. It was good, but I can imagine it being stronger, and that will be awesome!

This is very helpful, Med! Thanks!

Here are some pics from Day 64

Week Four of Flower

First, Queen 1, which we know is the Strawberry milkshake pheno, as confirmed by @MedCzech.

Now some shots from Queen 2, tentatively identified as the Strawberry Spice pheno. She is catching up to her sister and is now less than a week behind. I may not have a staggered harvest after all. Instead, I may let the Queen 1 go 30% amber and target a joint harvest if Queen 2 is all cloudy at that point. I will decide exit Friday before the next reservoir change

So, there are a few buds with some cloudy trichs in both plants, but most are clear. They will go another week before checking again. When either plant shows mostly cloudy on most buds, I will shift from Big Bud to Overdrive, as this signals the final two weeks before flush.

I will be putting the UVB in as soon as it arrives today. Research I have done is pretty compelling. Wish I knew last grow.

Looking fantastic man! Have you been trimming *every* fan leaf that pops out of the colas?

Thanks Jrok! Yes, by this point in flowering, I have trimmed most of those fans that are growing inward, infringing on another cola, or blocking a bud site. If they are even halfway blocking light from buds, they are gone.

Fair nuff... ive still been pretty careful with TD1, she could really use a trim up tho, I'm still learning with these autos..:)

Yeah, obviously, I am way in the prodefoliation camp, but I saw on my last grow a distinct difference with the buds that had direct exposure to the light an Drew those that were shaded by leaves. I also believe that plants in DWC, with constant access to whatever Nutrients they need to absorb, do not need a canopy of fans. There is enough smaller leaves, and buds to photosynthesize. Again, I am probably more pro defol than most.

I'm getting there, it just seems counter intuitive until flowering sets in for reals. TD1 can pretty obviously handle it at this point tho :) she's got some stems in the centre that are full bud top to bottom, but also a lot of self-made lollipops from her final stretch...

A few more... can't wait to try these!

OMG! That looks amazing! Amazing Job mate! :slap:

We are having issues with our first grow so I am definitely looking forward to the 2nd to apply everything we have learnt so far. Great Job again!
