New Grower Second Timer - DP Auto Night Queen In DWC

They are going to get so much bigger I think bro. The big bud explosion, and it always happens on this strain, hasn't happened yet man. Your looking at least another month I don't not more. Must be a huge tunnel or you have good vision, cuz it's a ways to go...you will see. Watch the trichs and don't you dare harvest those ladies early!

Lol! My vision isn't that great! It's just that Queen 1's colas have fattened up so much over the past week, that I thought it went through the bud explosion! I haven't even checked trichomes though, as I know it's way too early. I was thinking more like another week of Big Bud and then two weeks of Overdrive, but I can always do another Overdrive week. However, my plan is to wait until I see a slow down in bud development and mostly cloudy trichomes before switching f on Big Bud to Overdrive. If still mostly clear, I will wait. I know I am not there yet, though. Will be patient to go for the 500! Lol!

Day 60

Week three and a half of flowering

The plants have continued to thrive with me out of the way these last few days. I guess they are telling me that they don’t need me! Ha ha!

What a wonderful aroma of strawberries cream and spice! I can’t wait to taste this weed.

Definitely two different phenos. Queen 1 has accelerated her growth. Her colas are already stacked with buds and starting to get a couple red hairs. Less white hairs too. I am watching her, but think I will have to add overdrive next week, as I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for her.

Queen 2 is showing no signs of slowing down in her bud building, although she is now about a week behind the quicker plant. She is taller and has lighter buds. More spacing between nodes, but it looks like she will fill those spaces up.

Interesting how different the plants are. This flower show is always the most exciting part of the grow for me!

Happy New Year, my friends!

See the difference in Queen 2 below?

Thanks Need! Yeah, I got behind on defoliating when the inlaws were in town, and then I had to leave town. I went to work on them before the pictures, so you can imagine how they were before! Will get back to my daily clipping routine, and see if I can't keep them orderly!

Middle of Week Four of Flower

I thought I would post a few ANQ week four flower porn. These two phenos are so interesting in different ways.

Queen 1 is the quicker pheno, dense thick buds that are darker than her sister due to the purple hairs.

Queen 2 has long blonde hairs, and is leggy, but will grow into her figure. She is taking her time, but is already stunning in her own way. Even though the nodes are further away on her, o am not worried that she will fill in all gaps with the way her buds are side branching.

Queen 2 is in front in this cabinet shot. Hoping they completely fill this space with beautiful blonde and purple hued buds over the next few weeks.

Some cola shots of Queen 1. There are 15 of these on her! @MedCzech says they haven't even gone through the bud explosion yet! WTF!

Here are some Queen 2 shots. Slower but still stunning in my eyes!

I can see the two phenos now clearly. SB milkshake on the purple one and SB spice on the lighter green. It's so interesting to watch others grow the strain I have grown so many times and see the similarities and the differences. It's clear your set up creates a bud shape almost, that looks a little leggy at first, but then fills out later. Probably an RH and altitude, barometric pressure, etc.

Fun stuff! They will both widen up yet!

Excellent! Those were the two descriptions that captured me and made me want to grow this strain, and I have them both. If I recall, both were great day time smoke, and the milkshake was a cool end of the night strain, too. Correct?

They are really liking the environment for sure... so far.

Milkshake was more indica for sure, but both are still pretty heavy on the body after the first thirty minutes or so. She's a strong bitch too, watch out or she will take you down. The SB pickled something was the only pheno that had the Sativa tendencies, and I only got her one time. Although I know now why. She was the only plant under the blurple that emits UV light. I am still relatively new to LED lights and tbh they are new to the growing scene in general. @Mañ'O'Green mentioned that UV light can help increase terps. I have been doing some research and he is correct. It can significantly increase terps, resins and thc levels. My one blurple has the UV and so does my QB light, both were used in the last grow and both were involved in getting more and different results than the cobs alone.

I am purchasing a special UVB light from California Lightworks. It will be on a timer giving them around a couple hours each day building up to about five or six hours or so at the peak time in the end. It has been known to increase all these things by as much as 40%!! Yep, you saw it, 40% bro...that's huge. I am buying a light and also adding some organic elements to my next grow as well, and eventually I will go into soil and full organic for my fall grow this year. Chasing flavor indoors is a bitch. Outside there was only the issue of weather and waiting for a long time, but flavor was never a problem. Hydro is nice, but is lacks in its flavor inducing qualities.

A lot of this is new out there and they are still discovering the limits of led lights, cobs, etc. adding a UV source is huge. You can buy a UV reptile light. The Reptisun 5.0 would be good enough for your space and it doesn't use much energy either.

Interesting stuff. i have a Marshydro panel with the full spectrum (including UVB) and a cheaper panel that claimed to be full spectrum but doesn’t actually have any UVB output and you can definitely see things like early resin production and intense terpene prouduction even at young age VS the plants under the crappy light seem to start frosting as the buds begin to develop in true earnest almost as an afterthought. But that’s all just anecdotal because i don’t have tons of experience with the lights.

still It all makes sense that UV radiation can trigger certain genetic cues. It happens with people and animals so i assume it would happen with plants.

I forgot to mention how great those plants look btw! Great stuff, pretty jealous of those 15 colas! you’re going to have some intense yields off them!
