New Grower second auto grow mainline experiment

Topping used to be a big nono in the auto world, but it come more common recently.i doubt the td will complain.

Alright cool great to know. I've had no issues w
With topping my kush Ryder. But wasn't sure how I'm more sativa dominant plant would handle it since I've never grown anything with sativa in it before. But if it can handle it topping that'll be great cuz it'll help keep the height down just a little bit and it'll make LST a little bit easier.
one thing I one thing I wish I knew was roughly how tall a plant will grow in a 1 gallon pot. I have my canuk seed Auto Cheese plant growing now and I kind of just want to let it grow naturally just to see how it does but I have no idea how tall a plant will get in a 1 gallon pot. Although I think for any future grows I'm going to go back to 3 gallon possibly even 5 but 3 seems to be a good number.
this might be a stupid question but when breeders sites talk about how tall a plant will grow is that including this might be a stupid question but when breeders sites talk about how tall a plant will grow is that including the pot or is that you know from the top of the soil level to the top of the plant. Because even my new grow tent I bought is only about 5 foot 3 in tall. So factoring in my light hanging height I'm still going to have to keep my plans fairly short maybe two and a half feet tops I'm guessing give or take. But I'm hoping topping and LST will be able to keep it manageable even for the new tent. I really wish I could get something that's like 7 ft tall but to get that height you end up with these massive tents I don't need anything that big I don't need with I just need height LOL

i think its just the plant, when the seed companies talk about harvest times,yield/m2,height,width etc.should be takin with a pinch of salt.harvest times can be a bit off as they quote earliest possible harvest not perfect harvest times.breeders also have a few selected pro growers that get to test out pre release strains and take snazzy pics.in reality the average grower will not see the kind of figures they quote.a bit like when people follow Tangs set up and schedule to the letter and end up disapointed.
i been growing hmm 7 years and my pb is 113g im yet to run out of smoke so im not at all bothered with growing big,its nice yes but i can only smoke so much.ive grown taller plants in 250ml pots than i have in 6L.i tend to let plants grow natural, and if they get to close to the light i break their necks.
have recently changed from 6 to 3L pots and my yield has maybe dropped 1/3 ish.
how i hung a light in a cupboard

strings cables and wires are all good for adjusting light height, but when you pushed for space hang em high and if you need to set the pot on a box.

Nice information! And yes I'm really wanting to try to let a plant grow natural. I think I'll try it with the cheese. I've just always been worried about things getting to tall and having to super crop. I really worry about breaking the branch to much. Even though I've read about working it between fingers and such. I really do like the 2 gallon pots but the 3 gallon give me a little extra time between watering. Like yourself I try to get my light as high as I can. Crappy part is since I installed carbon filter and such it has to hang around 6 inches or so from top of tent. I still haven't had a plant grow tall enough where height was an issue but I'm kind of hoping one of my plants will so I can learn to work with it. That's why I'm thinking I might not top or lst my cheese. Just let it go and defol when needed and maybe tie some branches to open things up for better light. Something tells me the td might push my height limits when the time comes but I'll be sure to run a journal on it as well.
I'm just bummed that I ended up way under feeding my current kush. It kind of ruined my mainline experiment. I do love just having those 4 Colas to work with. So simple lol. But with the cheese I started light nutes at day 10. I'm going to start increasing until I see the plant telling me otherwise. I was so scared of over feeding that I went the totally opposite direction with it. So now I'm going to try and listen to plant more and if I see symptoms this time at least I'll know it's from to much nutes. Then I can back them off if need be. But hopefully this cheese will be my best grow yet with proper feeding hopefully best chance at maximum plant height growth . Every grow I'm learning something that I can carry over into next grow.

another quick little update on the kush ryder and auto cheese
kush ryder is probably a few weeks or so from harvest if that. not much for bud density. but i was expecting such considering the boo boo i made with it. but all still get something smokable off it in the end.

The auto cheese on the other hand is 18 days old today and its look fan tabulous very healthy and large fan leaves, beaitiful shade of green. since i havent notice any sign at all of nute burn in the last two waterings i think tomorrow when i water ill up my nutes from .5ml/L to 1ml/L and see how she does.. i did trim off a couple of the lower most branches since they would be weak and struggle to grow to top anyway. i was even thinking of cutting off a couple of the huge fan leaves. but figured ill leave the plant for the time being, let it focus on growing more before i start taking off to much.
all in all im very pleased with my progress on the cheese. im kind of starting to wish i had run this girl in a 3 gallon pot. But ill be happy to know how high it grows in a one gallon and what she yields. im going to try and run wthis one natural with just a little branch bending to oper her up for light as needed. if i run into any issues ill take archie's advice and just super crop any branches that get to close to the light. very excited to she how it grows. i still have one more of these seeds ill save for later.
also have 3 think different seeds coming, and supposedly one free amnesia haze auto from canuk seeds.
If i was a more experienced grower this is where id ask what you guys would like me to grow next. but since im not that good i wont do that, lol.

heres a few pics for your enjoyment.

Do the amnezia haze! :D one of my favourite strains. First time i smoked it i wandered around the grocery store for 30 min before i remembered i was supposed to actually buy something lol.

oh christ man i do then even when im not stoned, lol. and i might just do the haze first since ive never tried a sativa dominant plant before. thought i guess both the haze and think different are both sativa dominant

Dutch passion was my first few grows au/td/ex i hearty recommend to a new growers bulletproof will take sll the abuse ya throw at it and never complains.

yeah ive read great things about the dutch passion seeds. very stable and predictable that can handle little mistakes and still do well
