New Grower second auto grow mainline experiment

Great looking quad cola action! I'm looking to do something similar soon. At how many days did you top the plant the 1st time and the 2nd times? and at how many nodes?

Hey man! I didn't actually go by any set day timeframe. I just topped at the third node. And at the first node once branches grew. Honestly I think it would have done much better had I of been running proper pH and nute levels. I think I might try running this experiment again in the future once I get a little more grow experience under my belt. If I was to do it again. I would run it in a 3 gallon pot with a strain that's known to not go into flower for around 5 or 6 weeks. Just to have more room pot size and time wise for growth. If my grow had been on point and not stunted I believe those 4 Colas might have gotten bigger but since its a kush Ryder it's pretty squat to begin with. So I'll see what I can manage in future. Perhaps I'll even try it on one of my think different or cheese plants later down the road. I think with proper feeding and right strain one could even push to 6 Colas. Or at least 4 taller ones.

Did you use any defoliation or lolipopping? Did you have a watering schedule or did you check regularly?

i dont use any fancy watering schedules since im on the road a couple days at a time for work. i just water them before i leave when again when i come gome. every couple days or so. so my plants definitly get a good dry cycle between watering.
as far as defoliation goes and lollipopping go, every time i topped the plant/branch. i removed all growth from that node down. since i topped at third node i removed all the grown below it. and every brance i topped i removed all growth below that node as well. i also removed all fan leaves accept for the leaves growing on the branches i was wanting to grow out.
im not sure what the rules are on linking to other media on herem but heres a youtube video that breaks everything down in simple terms and is the video i used.
ill tell you one thing, my experiment might not have gone optimally, and im sure i could have gotten better results. but only having those 4 colas really makes plant management easy. and tey have really densed up the last few days. itll be low yield. but its definitly going to be something that im going to revisit in the future, albiet probably with a different strain.

well just a little pot porn for anyone viewing,lol. im thinking i might run the kush ryder one more week. it would totally be harvestable right now. but since its not a large yield i think ill let it go longer to mostly amber just to see what the effects are. plus give a little more bud fattening time ha ha. cheese is doing great. theres some minor tip burn on a few of the older leaves but nothing im going to worry about right now. im up to feeding full half strength nurtes at 2ml/L. might have to back it off a hair if i see any burn on more leaves but so far seems to be taking it alright. shes officially 4 weeks today, havent seen any pistols yet. but have a feeliung they will emerge over the next week. heres hoping she stretches more. total of 10 bud sites so far and the stems seem to be naturally spacing themselfs well for good light, so no need for any bending yet. i did snap a stem yesterday suring defol, but i taped it with some scotch tape and it still appears to be healthy so im hoping itll continue to grow. the broken part of stem is looking more perky today so im taking that as a good sign.

Well I ended up chopping the kush Ryder Monday Monday morning. Buds were pretty dense and lots of amber trichs so figured I'd get a head start on the drying.
So what do you guys think. Should I just continue the cheese grow under this thread? Or would it be best to start a new thread to continue on with?

I really have to learn how to use forums properly. I don't know what this tagging thing is lol. But I'll probably keep this one active until drying is complete. Then start new for the cheese. Guess I can do what I was going to originally and just post a link to it in here maybe. That or learn what this tag thing is.

Tagging is super easy. All you need to do is add an @ symbol in front of the usernames of the folks you want to tag. @912GreenSkell
