SCROG with auto BlackBerry from DP

Hi everyone,

I'm planning of using a scrog net for my next grow, it will be 2 blackberry auto from DP in 16L fabric pot , grow tent 0.8m x 0.8m x 1.8m, 2 mars ts1000 (one each basically).
My plan is to topped at 5th internode and apply the net straight way, in the end of the day vertical grow is not important as I have to "cover" the whole net , is it right?
Would you topped before ? 4th or even 3rd internode?
If plants was photo, no problem, as you can manage the switch, but with auto?
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestion/personal experience will be much appreciated.

After you top she will stop growing up, and start growing sideways. Then you need to fill the net to where you you like. Remember to give her time to grow some colas, so dont fill for to long. Autos are more tricky to scrog unless you know the strain, and how they will react to the scrog. I usually dont grow the same stuff so scrogging autos is not set in stone for me. I plan for it, but ultimately I let the plant tell me if I will scrog her. I supercrop and lst the crap out of them so even if not a "scrog" still same basic thing just no net. You can help you cause by growing bigger autos like xxl white widow, or strains that are know to veg longer. This will give you more recovery time from the hst. Good luck and stay lifted.

You can top anywhere you like normally between nodes 3-5. It depends how tall you want her. I would say 3 or 4 is good, the soon she gets topped the sooner she will recover.

Hi, usually I cut the 6th or 7th and do lst with no issues at all, but for the scrog I'm interested in fill up the space, that's why I was thinking of top the 5th and apply net the day after, I did a BlackBerry before and she was a big girl.

Anyone here using scrog with good results?

Youve covered all the basics... decent amount of light and big enough pot!.. I've topped and trained (tied down) an auto in a 3 gallon fabric pot and it seems to have scrogged itself?! There wasn't a vast amount of stretch on the plant but it did seem to stay in veg mode for longer... It didn't show sex till about 5 weeks!.. just make sure you tie the top most, main(dominant) branches below others so they can all catch up, moving ties along branches to spread them and keep them down!.. and I also defol larger lower fan leaves below bud sites and side branches, so no leaves are bigger than others, similar to bonsai I imagine!?.
..a net will help but tieing down assures the dominant branches are beneath the side branches that you want to encourage...

I've topped autos from 16 days old to 28 days. And some accidental after. Doh! Regardless of height or nodes. I found my best time to be between days 21 and 23 of age based off my grow method and strains. Might help might not. Always could try one of each a couple days apart maybe?

That is a real good range to go by. Im with you although there're exceptions. I always do new strains so never know what I'm gonna get. I have a Mephisto strain that has a extra week of veg, but cant remember right now which 1 lol.
