I’m not content with just bending my autos into place anymore. Managed a pounder on my second attempt so the thrill of the chase is gone now. I’ve thought about it properly and dont think i’d be able to pull any more weight from an auto without upgrading my lights so time to change tactics.......
You can just about get away with 1 plant round here due to the local law simply not caring so i’ve got to stick to single plant monsters for now.
Plus I really want some proper brutality. I topped/ fimmed all my autos and decided that it isnt really beneficial. Caused me problems of some sort every time and totally ruined one of them so i’ve switched to photos.
I want to learn how to mainline and how to do a bad ass scrogg. During this grow i will attempt the latter.

[HASHTAG]#dutch passion[/HASHTAG] decided they wanted to sort me out so ive got a bunch of the staffs favourite photo strains turning up in 2 days time.
I currently have no idea what im getting but i’ve got a sneaky suspicion that there may be an ‘outlaw’ or 2 in the package.

Currently my equipment stands at....

1 x 130w big bulb CFL for seedlings

2x 270w (tested, actual draw)
Mars hydro first model 600’s

2 x 20 litre NFT hydro resevoirs.
I’ll go into these in greater detail shortly.

1m x 1m x 1.6m tent wich ill be slightly upgrading at some point

PH and PPM meters

Haven’t quite decided what nutes im going with yet but i use Ionic hydro grow for the first 2 weeks so plenty time to figure that one out.

+ all the usual fans, extractors and such like

Think the only DP strains I've run is a Mazar and a Dutch Haze.......in the same res at the same time Would run the Mazar again for sure:smoking:

theres a dp auto mazar on youtube that the guy claims at 3 pound. its pretty untrimmed and includes all popcorn... which i really dont agree with. dry weight is “tenner a g baggy quality” to me. i dont have to sell it but someone else does so if i wouldnt happily pay for it then its trim hash. anyway, grudges aside, the guys got a fuckin enormous bag of weed like!! i pulled a pound and his bag is like ten times bigger so i will accept that he done it.
i really think you should do some single dp monsters for us though mate. you’d get easy half pounder auto’s every time. you’d struggle to not get half a pounder in that system to be honest. : )

Right, where do we start with this then?
Well, the general plan of action is to try and fill a 1.2 metre square scrogg with some lovely plant porn.
I germinate in root riots. No fancy propegators or that. Just leave them on the kitchen bunker an ouiala. keep them in the rr for 5 or 6 days to root up properly then transplant into 4” rockwool cubes up untill day 17ish. All the while under the 130w CFL.
Then once im happy with the roots ill turn on the hydro res and the blurples.
I plan on vegging for around 7 weeks with a few toppings. then i’ll supercrop the whole thing down to a starfish and drop a 2 inch sgrog ontop. veg another bit while i get everything through the net then strip and flip. sounds simple enough, what could possibly go wrong .......

For any new growers tagging along or anyone else interested in hydro i’ll explain the system a bit more.
its NFT. that stands for nutrient film technique. basically its a resevoir with a shelf above it. the roots grow on the shelf in nothing but air with a steady, slow stream of nutrients over them. supplied via a pump in the res below. the beauty of this system and what i believe sets it apart from other hydro methods is that there is an unlimited amount of oxygen to the roots so you dont need any extra oxygen supply. no matter how many thousands of litres per minuit of air you throw into DWC there will never be as much oxygen as there is in air. i do use a small 2w air stone but only to stop the roots growing too far and blocking the pump. ive only ever seen 2 other people use this system and i really cant get my head round why. its so simple to use and maintain. pretty much garunteed at least a half pounder every time aswell.

My buds are starting a NFT operation. Ain't the wacky tobaccy though. It is possible that I will put up a building for them. I'm anxious to see some gear photos if have the time. valves, bulkheads and the like.
