Outdoor Robin Hood: Prince of Weeds (2017)

Sorry mate, just remembered I hadn't replied to this. Thanks for stopping by and for your positive words of encouragement. Regarding the rabbits and deer, well those big arse 5ft cages I have should keep every mammal, including deer away. The only issue could be mice and rats which have already got to work gnawing a plant stem to fuck. Little buggers.

Any idea what strains you are going to run outdoors this year? What latitude are you at as well mate, if you don't mind saying...?

ATB

Rats? Ffs!

I'm doing 3x Dinafem Big Kush photoperiods which will be going out next weekend, and 3 x Sweet Seeds Blackjack F1s which will be going out whenever my mate pulls his thumb out of his arse and gets them started!

Latitude.. Fook knows.. I'm a little way north of London tho. [emoji1365]

Hey man, thanks for stopping by. Yeah, the mini greenhouse has certainly served it's purpose this year haha. Get's very warm in there during clear sunny days though. Pretty sure I have opened the flap to oven like temps around 50-60C inside.

What latitude are you at mate, if you don't mind saying? Just wondering whether you are being fucked over by this draught as well? ATB [emoji106]
I'm at 51 degrees on the east coast (can see the sea from here) and yeah it's been dry. I don't like to use the hose to water if I can help it so relying on my water butts right now and mulching the shit out of my veg plot to keep moisture in there!

The wind and cloud is doing my head in too for one of my other hobbies (astronomy)

Cheers
Swan

Right, this update might have to involve 2-3 different posts... so without further ado, I'll get down to it...

I also came across a big snake on my way back from the plot last week, I caught a glimpse of it moving in the corner of my eye and turned to see it on the side of the path. It must have been at least a meter long in length, maybe around 6ft even. Definitely a grass snake. But before I could reach into my pocket, getting my phone out and switching to the camera app, the snake struck out in my direction, in one quick biting motion, missing my leg by a few inches and then it shot off into the undergrowth at light speed.

I spent another 5 minutes trying to find it again, but it was gone. I never would have thought a snake would move so fast, especially one so long. I always heard that grass snakes play dead and that they do not bite. This one was different. It didn't hesitate to go for me, and it was off in a flash into the undergrowth after the initial strike. I am so annoyed that I could not get a pic in time. I am now vowing to get some snake pics in this diary before the end of the season!

And thankfully we have had a bit of rain here in recent days, although it is still nowhere near enough to make up for the drought or to replenish the ground stocks. Yesterday was sunny and warm, around the 22C mark and the ground had dried out again pretty much, but there has been quite a bit of rain again today and cooler temps. Tomorrow is supposed to be 24C with sunny skies which means I might be back to square one again, with everything drying out, unless we get a few more days of rain this week, and quite a bit more rain throughout May & June :smoking:

Totally forgot to get pics of the Sweet Seeds autos on my last visit. Got several out right now, which I will be sure to include in my next update.

So until then... :smoking:

Vegging along nicely there!
I'm keen to see the San Fernando Kush and the Indigo Berry Kush.
You have a lot of Kush / Afghani strains there.
I guess these do well in the UK, huh?

Hey Maria. Well the OG Kush I ran last year didn't have any mould at all really, maybe 1% at most. And that was an early November finish. I was very impressed with the mould resistance on it and I am hoping the other Kush's do well this year. The main reason I am growing them is because they are decent strains in general, potent and good yielding.

Also all the stuff going around here in the UK is Cheese or 'skunk'. Not much variations or anything exotic going around here and it's quite hard to find stuff like diesel, haze or kush strains these days, unless you go up to London or grow your own. A good 70-80% of UK weed is Cheese. It's everywhere and you soon get sick of it. I prefer to grow my own assortment of Kush strains :smoking:

Nice work Archer !

A word of warning, please do read my UK grow thread link below in my signature...........it does show what you can achieve in a UK summer, but it has a tragic ending. Do learn from my mistakes and enjoy the ride.

I wish you the very best, I will keep an eye on your thread............eP.

Cheese or Ammo as they call it on da stweeet fam. (Amnesia)

I reckon last year was a lucky one Archie... I had hardly any mould either, tho mine were Dinafem too.. I usually lose a fair bit to the ol bud rot.. let's see how we do this time.

Hey man, sorry it took me a while to reply. I have been real busy, working 45 hours a week and trying to get all my plot prep and plant maintenance in at the same time. It's hard work going at it solo, and even harder when your plot(s) are many miles away on foot.

I tried reading your diary when you originally posted, but could not find the link. Perhaps I was too stoned, because I have found it now and given your diary a good read. I don't know what to say. You were smashing it, and those plants were thriving, as good as any I have seen outdoors in the UK. Which makes it all the more tragic. But at the same time, I have to say there was an element of naivety there, as I would never in a million years grow in my back garden like that. Although I'm sure you had a reason for it i.e. unable to guerrilla grow. You certainly had balls, I give you that. But I guess it was asking to be busted by the feds or to get ripped. Sorry to say. And after I had a Blueberry auto last year that was the smelliest plant I have ever grown, with a smell radius of 50-75 yards... I would never risk another plant in my garden or in a dodgy spot again.

Are you still growing outdoors since this tragic event? I really hope so. You are clearly a very good grower in general, and I would love to see what you can do on the guerrilla growing scene. Take care mate. Wishing you the best
