Do you need a driver for each light or does one do the trick ??

The autocobs are complete lights. Nothing to do besides hang it and plug it in. The beauty of this is flexibility where most cob lights or any light limits limit you.

I have had great success myself with COBS. I have had 8 plants in 2 gallon pots in my 4x4 and pulled 1.67 grams per watt.. I chopped another plant last night and have one more to chop for my growing season to be done.. I will be selling my Amare most likely and rebuilding my cob frame and running just the cob.. I have talked with a few others that use the Amare and it is a great light but it needs a dimmer... it is too powerful in my opinion.. I want to open it up so bad to see if it can be dimmed manually but I will just run my citizen cobs that I have just sitting here next season

Its old tech these days (sounds weird to say). Cobs are way better because they have a spectrum closer to what the sun puts out, at a much lower wattage. My mars pull a little less than 600 watts from the wall....a set of the autocobs will pull about 210 watts, and the plants seem to love them, from what I've seen. On top of all that...the autocobs cool passively (using just heat sinks, no fans)....if a fan dies on my light, it will burn itself out in probably less than an hour....

Correct Frank. The spectrum is very similar to hps and the sun. It's really about how much light you get from each watt. These are 50% efficient which is 50% light while most less expensive leds are in the 20% range. Hps depending on brand is 20-30% efficient. That's the savings and reason you can do more with less. Having a low wattage grow is also much simpler to manage.

Hey @pop22 Did you see how good my soil Hempy dwc build is going? You being a lab rat might get a kick out of it if you have yet to see it.
Soil top. Perlite/vermiculite the rest way down. 5 gallon bucket is set into a 10 gallon trash can with a stone and air pumping under and into 5 gallon.

She's around the 30 day Mark. About 26 inches tall and 32 wide. Been tied down.

If I were buying all new lights I would definitely be buying auto cobs.. Smo did a great job

This makes me feel prehistoric using 2sticks rubbed together to kick start my 600watt HPS ,its my first grow so it is what it isbut it is working

Another huge advantage with the autocobs is this. Right now I have one plant left to finish and the Amare 450 is still running to finish her.. if I had 4 autocobs I could turn two of them off... it is a no brainer

Morning Stoners! All this talk about cobs and no money to spend. I watched the video yesterday on converting marshydro lights to cobs, it didn't look too hard.

I would go with four Cobs that @BigSm0 is making that way you can adjust accordingly to the size of the plant you are growing under it.
