How much light is needed for a 4*4 tent?

How much light is needed for a 4*4 tent?
If that isn't a loaded question....

I have a mars II 1200 in mine..... @BigSm0 said four of his autocobs are good for a 4x4 (if I was buying new lights right now....that is exactly what I would be going for). There are T5 lights that do very well in that area...but the fixture is almost the same surface area as the tent floor (they're big).

Long story short.....if you're looking for wattage.....no less that 600 (or the equivalent to 600 in the case of the cobs) all the way up to 1000 or more. Heat will be an issue, depending on your setup.

Hope it helps.

Willy tell me about your cobs .
Whew, just caught up.
I just bought them from https://cobshop.net/ . He was having a 420 sale so I bought one of his kit of four "autocobs". Unfortunately I think it has awakened my DIY demon. That is not a good thing really! I still have a few thousand bucks worth of audio gear waiting to be built. I tend to get carried away...

At anyrate these are lovely lights, I could hardly wait to take down my HPS and get these guys going. It was a real nice HPS too!

Hey @pop22 Did you see how good my soil Hempy dwc build is going? You being a lab rat might get a kick out of it if you have yet to see it.
Soil top. Perlite/vermiculite the rest way down. 5 gallon bucket is set into a 10 gallon trash can with a stone and air pumping under and into 5 gallon.

She's around the 30 day Mark. About 26 inches tall and 32 wide. Been tied down.

I was thinking 4 cobs. It's apparent I'm going to need more vertical. Currently have a 5'ceiling. I may just have to Jerry rig what I've got for a while... If I can get the outdoors to dry up a little for me, I wouldn't be so stressed/concerned with my indoor setup. Very much in the planning stages currently:d5::smokeout::vibe:

@Benjamin Squier I agree with @Frankthetank the four "Autocobs" would be about perfect. I say that because I just bought a set for my 4x4. They look great.
I also like the low wattage of the autocobs, and not having to move my plants out of my tent to take pics (autocobs emit white light, versus purple-y light for my mars LED).

I've got the same Mars light. After about 10 months of continuous use it has 4 burnt out diodes. Another year and I'll be ready to use the frame and diy something. Cost is usually my limiting factor so I wait for the next generation and buy clearance. :smoker1:

I've also got some dead diodes after almost a year of use.:nono:
