I've got the same Mars light. After about 10 months of continuous use it has 4 burnt out diodes. Another year and I'll be ready to use the frame and diy something. Cost is usually my limiting factor so I wait for the next generation and buy clearance. :smoker1:
Being a straggler has its benefits:crying::frog:

Whew, just caught up.
I just bought them from https://cobshop.net/ . He was having a 420 sale so I bought one of his kit of four "autocobs". Unfortunately I think it has awakened my DIY demon. That is not a good thing really! I still have a few thousand bucks worth of audio gear waiting to be built. I tend to get carried away...

At anyrate these are lovely lights, I could hardly wait to take down my HPS and get these guys going. It was a real nice HPS too!
THIS is what I was looking for!! Thanks

Hey,
No I don't think so, it is a constantly evolving thing though. Comparing the units from every year or so there is a considerable difference! I am no expert and this is just opinion but I think the cobs are really the thing I have been waiting for. I bought a few blackstar clones and have never really been happy with them, they are like smaller versions of the big Mars lights we have been talking about. I like the white light and spectrum they produce but I love the modular way that the "autocobs" are. That is real flexibility. I guess time will tell as far as how they produce. One thing for sure they will cost a lot less to run than my HID stuff! Here is a picture of my current setup with the cobs. Those are t5s in each corner, sunblasters with the nano reflectors.

Sooo short story dragged out - LED setups are pretty much ancient at this point?
Its old tech these days (sounds weird to say). Cobs are way better because they have a spectrum closer to what the sun puts out, at a much lower wattage. My mars pull a little less than 600 watts from the wall....a set of the autocobs will pull about 210 watts, and the plants seem to love them, from what I've seen. On top of all that...the autocobs cool passively (using just heat sinks, no fans)....if a fan dies on my light, it will burn itself out in probably less than an hour....

Do you need a driver for each light or does one do the trick ??

Thank you for your support!

This is what I just pulled from the 4x4 with 220 watts.
