Hello,

I have a quick question about Roots.

Will the plant regrow or grow new roots if you add more soil to the pot?
I'm asking because I noticed the medium shrank by a few inches and I'm debating if I should refill.

It would really interest me how the root system works.
Is it only from existing roots or can they regrow from the stem after you add soil?

Thanks for the responses.

Yes the roots will find the new soil.

Interesting... will the roots come out of the stems after I cover them with soil?
Or will the roots grow from below upwards to the soil?

Thanks for the answer Namvet25

The roots will come out of the stem(s).....and branches for that matter.....that's why cloning is possible.

I like to plant my seedlings deep, right to the hilt, that is only the cotyledons above ground when they are 6-8 cm or so.

Makes sense now... thanks for the response ;)
