Lighting Quantum board thread.

Hey guys how do these connectors work.. push fit?
More importantly how does the wire come out again without breaking them

Lol, I wish I had asked that question before I did mine as I tried lifting the little plastic bit and snapped 2 off before I realised they were push fit! I would imagine you would push that indented part down and pull the cable but I am guessing!

There was a video on YouTube if I’m not mistaken. And you slide the cable in to fasten it and push the indented tab in to pull the wire out.
But maybe one of the experienced board owners can shed some light as I hate to give wrong advice.

Cheers guys.... of course i did the same as you @ChroToker and pulled it up and broke it :face:

Should have waited on the replies first.
Needed to get a soldering iron anyway
..:smoking: i'll pick up some 1.5mm cable too

On a different note...
What size potentiometer should I get?
I’d like to have one for the two drivers on the 3000k boards and one for the driver on the 4000k board.

Had a nice bit of aluminium in the shed so thought i wpuld use it to space out my boards a bit better

Obviously my cables joining the boards were too short to use again.
Found some normal copper 1.5mm wire but the soft copper wouldnt push through the fittings.

Do i just need to coat the bare ends in solder or do i need a special grade of wire?

Get some 18 gauge solid core hookup wire.
