Indoor Qbgrowers perpetual grow in a 4x4 with 480w of Quantum Boards

@Qbgrower i have now had a deficiency using this approach for both of my grows which has happened around day 38 which is early flower:

I am using the current schedule that living soils have on their website without the rockdust.

Be interesting if you see the same issue but livingssoils advised me to use less grow in the next grow. So either use less in the initial mix or omit the 2 x tbls of grow at the end of week 4.

Livingsoils have been really helpful and sent me free dolomite lime but also a remedy mix - cant fault them for their support.

Hi mate. Thanks for the advice.

It is interesting. Maybe that's where the fungus gnats have came from? They are little bastards but I managed to get rid of them with a couple of mosquito dunk waterings then removing the top two inches of soil and replacing with new. And of course the yellow sticky traps. They caught hundreds!

I wish you'd been around a couple of days ago. I've just topped dressed them all with 2tbls of grow. As I said earlier I added around two inches of new soil before top dressing so hopefully the girls will be OK.

Livingsoils seem like a decent company. I've not reached out for help but maybe I should if I start to see any problems develop. I have noticed a couple of very small and light shiny spots develop on the lower leaves of the Gelato 41 that I'm keeping an eye on.

On the Bloom packaging it says not to use two weeks before harvest but the website says to continue right up till the end? What's your plan?

I did wonder about the gnats - i have never had them before and i use bagged Biobizz Lightmix.

I am seeing signs of all the usual deficiency culprits - potassium, phosphorus and calcium. I notice they have added Rockdust to the recommended schedule also. I get the feeling the suggested schedule for auto's is not quite right. I used liquid nuts before and got it nailed TBH and i only used CalMag sparingly.

I am also using their Mycoboost.

My plan was to use the bloom right to the end - i did that the last time and the end results were really good although i had similar deficiency issues at around the same time - 2 weeks after flowering began. I put it down to me not getting watering right but now i think its the schedule thats not right.

I use biobizz lightmix too. I really think its came from the livingsoils amendments. I wonder if you were to mix up the new soil and water then add more dry soil on top say two inches and allow to cook the gnats wouldn't be a problem?

I agree that the schedule isn't right for Autos. Problem is I can't work out if it's deficiencies or surplus? I suppose it's always a learning game we play here, especially when using new and untested products.

How are you finding the mycoboost?

Lets keep sharing our notes here and between us we can hopefully work out a fool proof feeding schedule for our girls.

Cheers

I love the approach so am going to keep going until i get this right!

I haven't noticed a huge difference with the Mycoboost from my first grow but it is a very popular thing these days and supposed to be great for the plants by allowing a greater uptake of nutrients. I have had issues with both grows though so difficult to judge.

One thing i have noticed for sure is that i have soft water in my area and its clear the livingsoils schedule does not have enough minerals to offset this so i am going to be buying the Rockdust next time to help.

Another negative is the barley making the top layer of soil hard - they say to mix it is thoroughly but i just cant get it to stop going really solid.

Happy to keep sharing notes for sure - determined to get this nailed!

I will eventually move to full organic soil. Plan is to buy a wormery and create my own vermicompost. Hopefully in the Summer

I'm in no rush to buy the mycoboost but might try to get some rock dust from a different source.

Do you use the barley amendment or do you mean the barley that's already in the grow and bloom? I noticed on my last grow that the top of the soil was hard so this time I sprinkle the amendment on top of the soil and really mix in with a gloved hand. Seems to have worked so far.

I reckon we'll have it down in the next couple of grows.

Sounds like a great plan.

I use the barley amendment also - i am pretty much following their feed guide to the letter. The surface of my soil is really hard! I did try mixing a little but it is difficult to manage.

Fingers crossed the rockdust will help with my issues. I have had pretty much no progress in terms of deficiencies from grow 1 to grow 2 which is disappointing.

I've looked at their Reddit page. Not much going on. Don't want to sign up either and have another potential way to be tracked.

Forgot that I have biotabs Silicium Flash. I'm going to add to the next top feed and will hopefully help with nutrient uptake.

Hi folks! Sorry I've not been updating my diaries recently. Been sick, camera broke to name two things that have went wrong recently.

ANYWAY!

Today is DAY 53 for everyone. They got a top feed of two tbls of bloom auto amendment each and watered in.

Gelato 41 is growing really well, just in the pre-flower stretch and pushing out a lot of nice bud sites.

Kosher Cake is nicely into flower. Stretching appears to have stopped and she's just pushing on with fattening up her buds.

Hubbabubbahaze is growing decently. Might not be the biggest producer but it'll hopefully be some nice smelling and tasting buds.

Purple Punch has clearly been the one effected most by the fungus gnats. I just can't bring myself to cut her down. She was supercropped today. Again won't produce much but it's looking like she will produce some nice purpley buds.

And a wee group shot to finish off the post.

Cheers
