yes those straps will hold your filter in place fine. Not only will your plants be happier with the light up higher, you'll get more difused light to the bottom and should see a little better growth down low. People fail to realize the value of diffused light, yet that is why grows in tents are better than in an open room, the reflected, diffuse light

@witchyhour oh ok thought that could be another reason for what could be stressing the plants, check out my H2O bubbler I bubble for a minimum of 30 mins before putting in bottles and mixing nutes, I read that oxygenating your water is really good, it makes the water more like rain water and makes the nutrients more easy to take up by the plant, bubble for half an hour and should stay oxygenated for half hour

@Itisi i mean my circulation fans not extractor and intake, ok I've put my hand between and it's like Luke warm right next to the shade but filter feels cool.

@pop22 right yeh and get a more full spectrum, I was kinda worried that the bottom growth would just die off if it didn't get sufficient light, but then again there's more spread now and the tent will help diffuse, also good to know I still have some brains left lol, just to be safe I've tied a couple lengths of garden tie round the extractor for extra precaution

always pays to be cautious! I've added safety chains to my lights after a rope rachet had broken and dropped a 30 pound light onto a test grow plant...........

Yup! My water sits in buckets with air stones on them, at least overnight, before I use it for the girls. [emoji106] [emoji2]

@witchyhour @pop22 it devvo was some form of heat or light stress and ive noticed now that nearer the top of the plants the leaves are curling up almost cupping and gone quite stiff, is it the end of those leaves or will they still photosynthsise, I read that article on heat stress says should feed some sea weed kelp extract but will take atleast a couple weeks to recover, since im nearing the end is it worth it? i have got rhinoskin which helps heal i think .

it never hurts to try to heal a plant. I'm not much for things like foliar sprays but I did a test with Optic Foliar's Overgrow and it did seem to help a plant I had with PH damage, worth a try.
