Outdoor Purple Rains summer 2012

Thanks NewBe.
I have sprayed them once with neem oil because they had some pests, but I didn't know neem also helps preventing mold. Good to know.

I’m not sure whether Neem oil is quite the same as Neem Repel. The quote from them is “Neem Repel is Ideal for indoor/outdoor use on ornamental flowering plants, trees, shrubs and foliage. It assists the control of Black Spot on Roses, Rust, Scab, Powdery Mildew Spider Mite, Aphids, Whitefly, Leaf Hoppers, Leaf Spot, Blight, Downy Mildew and Botrytis.” As I understand it, bud rot is caused by Botrytis which thrives in cold damp conditions.

All I can say is that it worked for me, just remember to wear a mask and don’t spill any in the kitchen as it really stinks! She was not impressed!

The big monster looks like affy to me and I don't know how it got there. I don't think it will finish ever.
