Grow Mediums Preferred brand of coco?

I've had luck with Cyco Pearl - coir with perlite already blended in.

It's available locally so an easy choice. No shipping charges etc.

It is prebuffered but the runoff is quite strong. I've been running a bit of a flush with seedling strength (300ppm) nutrients until the runoff numbers drop. pH stays pretty stable.

Hey all coco growers I am curious what everyone here uses for coco brand wise? Any brand to stay away from? I have only used botanicare and canna. I am having a hard time sourcing those right now for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance
I buy whatever I can get locally, which is just un buffered brick. I give it a serious wash to get rid of fines and salts before buffering and charging with initial nutes, and it has always worked perfectly. Bit more hassle, but I have the time and don't mind the fuss. I'd probably do it this way even if the fancier stuff was available without predatory shipping costs.

Thanks for the rep @blue. I did order me some canna natural. This will mix in with my canna coco Bricks. That I already have rinsed and ready. But not enough for this next round. So I got this stuff to make life easier. It’s alittle pricey but I’ve seen worse.
No problem @Olderfart thank you for stopping by and chiming in. I will be getting some cheap brick for future runs. But right now I needed somthing ready quick. Beans will be dropping sooner then I thought and I don’t have enough medium ready.

That's good stuff, if I could get it for a good price, I would use it. Good luck with the new grow!

I'm not your typical coco grower an some would say I'm not even tho my mix of living coco is mostly coco coir .I use down to earth pro blend which is a soilless mix of coco ,an peat perlite ,an microbes added also worm castings .I add other organic amendments depending on what my need is for my living coco I also reuse my living coco on over 5 runs without changing the medium an the quality is amazing her just 2 examples of my dankstyle j living coco methodology

Hydro stores by me usually only have 1 or 2 types of Coco in stock. Pretty sure I still have never bought the same brand twice. Must be an all soil growing area :crying: But too many of the brands I've bought have either not been washed like they say or are full of the super tiny pieces that just clog up the fabric bags. And the bricks take me all day to hydrate and rinse. Found it much easier/faster/cheaper to wash and reuse and just top the pots off with some fresh :baked:

Used Canna and that was always good. Switched to botanicare as that is what the shop had did ok. Now running my last brick and then will give this Rio Coco a try it has larger chunks to it and not the fine peat looking coco of other brands.
