Pollen Collection And Long Term Storage

High!
Have always been amazed by the level of answers on AFN, thanks:thumbs:
Quick and efficient!
Good luck bro...
:peace:
P.S: Anyone has a link for "eppendorf free vials" but shipping out internationally?

yeah just wait, might wanna let the pollen saks that do fall off dry completely before any attempat collection, some don't put off a lot of pollen until they are very mature, I had a mini thunderfuck do this for me, but rest assured you will have pollen, might wann check out some of the eppendorf free vials thread if you need a storage conatainer. I just put a dry pollen sack in the container give it a flick a few times dump the leaf matter and voila perfect pollen, let this open over night then into the freezer she goes

let the pollen sack dry off completely on the plant

Thanks for the tips, and I actually just received my free vials just last week. Cheers, L4

I've only had one experience collecting pollen, and that was from a photo plant grown out doors. I cut long pieces like you would a clone, and let them sit in water hanging over a mirror; eventually they open and drop the goods. I read a DJ Short article, he said to cut your pollen 50/50 with flour. Sounds like this would not only spread it out further, but wouldn't the flour also behave as a desiccant?

awesome thread everyone been thinking about breeding a few my self and this has pretty much answered all my questions
peace :smokebuds:

I just used my Highrise diesel pollen, that I had stored in freezer. I used small paint brush and put pollen on smokey bear and Mi5 (both are AK crosses). I pulled them out of main tent and brushed them. I plan on letting them sit for 3 days then misting with water and placing back in tent. Will this prevent my plants in tent from getting pollinated? If not what is best way to do this? Thanks again AFN.
PS I searched for answer before asking. Just no luck

High!

until someone experienced chime in.. here ,Am not an expert on that but you do not have to let them sit 3 days out but water them before putting them back , water kiss pollen.

Peace

How long until the receive pollen and I can spray with water to kill extra?

Im no expert but yes water should disable the pollen...think thats what is done!Ill DUB check it.:tiphat:

chlorinated tap water is what kills pollen.yes pure h20 will disable MOST viable pollen.but not all .trust me....lol

@GoAuto6 @Northern Grower i have some male photos i want to grab some pollen off of.

Do they required the same light schedule as in the tent they have lived or can I just put them in the window with a bit of sunlight to mature?
