Another trick to gather pollen putting cupcake cups on the stem: cut a slit into the center of the cupcake cup, then slide it over the stem right under a cluster of pollen sacks. Depending on how thick the stem is, it can help to cut a small circle in the middle, or to tape the cut end closed. As the pollen sacks open, pollen will collect in the cups (as will opened pollen sacks, easily removed with tweezers).
