Little update. Decided to make a full scale diagram so I could visualize the design better. I've also settled on some 1 inch square aluminum tubing. I was throwing around the idea of using tee bars like the 80/20 extrusions but it's too difficult to roundup the extrusion and tee bar parts. To join the frame, I'm going to take a stab at brazing and maybe I'll show a video of that process as well.
Here's the full scale diagram so far.

Hey man, nice of you to drop in. I've got 4 COBs about 4 inches apart. I'm covering a 4x2. More light than I probably need. My plan was to get lots of light and dial it back if I need to with the controller.Sorry if I didn't read far enough back to get my answers....
How much separation between COB's? and what size area do you need coverage for?

Want something done right, you gotta DIY!Sweet. That will be real nice. I'll be back to my COB build soon, I won't be able to use the HPS much longer with the southern heat. Nice work on the controller bud! I love to see the DIY approach. It gives me warm fuzzies.
Little update on the project. All the slots on the controller have been cut out and fitted. Still need to do some filing to get all the openings nice and smooth. Could have done a bit better of a job on the cut outs with better measurements and planning but overall I'm extremely happy with the build so far.
Cheers
