7 weeks to start flower is unusual, but it does happen.
Most of mine flower during the 5-6th weeks, and ripening usually takes 7-9 more weeks.
My record is 10 weeks to start flower.
It's probably coincidence that they started flower when you switched lights to 18-6.

Autos can get huge in hydro, and yield huge, and the longer they veg, the bigger they get.

I never considered it to be a "normal" thing . The packaging said 9 to 10 weeks and from researching i found that most afs start to flower in 3rd to 4th week and i saw a video of this strain finish in 75 days so i assumed human error on my part. Well with that kind of wait time a photo could be quicker :/ The reason i chose it for first crop was thinking it would be done in 10 weeks. You live you learn as usual .

My experience is that autos aren't a lot faster than photos, but there are many reasons to prefer autos.
Breeders put out a lot of bad, self-serving info on seed to harvest times, and some mislead by giving "flowering time" which leaves out 4-6 weeks of veg time.
12-14 week total is my average.
8 week strains don't finish in 8 weeks for me, and I've rarely harvested any auto in less than 10 weeks.

Figured it was about time to add some photos . So have the ph under control but I did have some wilting issues along the way but that’s starting to go away now too. Think I was letting pots fill with to much water . ( to close to top) I think I’m only in about the 3rd week of flower not sure . I’m at week 11 from seed now and it’s an OG KUSH auto from Sonoma seeds that say 9 to 10 weeks . I think I’ll be done at about 19 weeks lol

UPDATE
So harvested a couple weeks back just wanted to say im so glad i finished this grow. I ended up just shy of 3lbs of my 4 plants! Not bad considering i almost scrapped them . I average almost 2 grams per watt out of my lil autos. Quite happy with first grow after my long break. I am starting aphoto period batch next doing a scrog so hoping i can keep these numbers up. Did not record my grow so cant really follow last steps but i will just act according to what the plant needs again and hope for the best .
