#5 Harvest

It's time to close the book on this one. #5 came down today. She was the one that was a lighter shade of green from birth. She has a different smell than all the others. Almost no lemon smell. Strong cat piss with a little bit of soil and pepper. She also had the most color showing on the outsides of the buds out of the bunch. Here are some pics with the fans removed and after a rough standing trim. I'll upload some finished trim pics in a little bit.

I just started doing runs of my trimmings from the harvests through my homemade Pollinator. I didn't weigh the trimmings before putting them in - if I had to guess I would say around an ounce or so, maybe a little more. First run was for 1 minute and here are the results:

Going to do runs of 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and 1 hour to get some different grades.

It's really good meds man. Very powerful effect but still able to function with ease.... so far........ I think it will be good for the daytime.

great work mate - looks like you got a nice range of phenos and lotsa seeds to play with not too mention some nice smokw already - A+!

here in Aus we are pretty lazy when it comes to our smokeables. usually just buds in bongs - if we're desperate some leaf. But I do like the looks of the results of your pollinator contraption - care to explain a bit more to a dumb ass?

Bro, you're far from a dumbass. The only reason I know about it is because I saw it in my Cervantes book. I'll snap a couple of pics.... but be prepared to laugh your arse off. It's made from stuff I had laying around the house, with the exception of the silkscreen.... it's quite Rube Goldberg-esque, but it does the trick.

Trimmings were thrown in the freezer for 3 hours prior to running. Here's what I wound up with after doing those runs:

1 min. - .3 g
2 min. - .4 g
3 min. - .9 g
5 min. - .7 g
10 min. - .5 g
15 min. - .4 g

Total: 3.2 g

I decided to end after the 15 minute run because I was getting a little bit of plant material mixed in, giving it that green color. Plus I had more than enough for my needs and wanted to leave a little bit on the leaves so I could sweeten up the next batch of cannabutter I make.

I weighed the trimmings after I was done and they came in at 29.5g, so I started off with 32.7g. That's about on par with the 10:1 trim:hash ratio they said I would get using the pollinator. It was fun to build it, but I know there are waaaay more efficient ways to make hash that collect a much higher percentage of the trichs. I didn't throw the trimmings back in the freezer in between runs while I was collecting and, in hindsight, I think that might have helped a little bit. Still, I want to look into some of the other methods.

do you have any details and pics of your homemade pollen collector. I'd really like to make one myself. I broke my kief box awhile back and have been aching to make some press again.
