New Grower Perpetual Auto Grow By The Trifid..

Hey realcarlos. Just heard the timer switching the lights on from the other room i hadn't thought about that! haha.. I'd like to harvest 2 perhaps 3 females every three weeks while doing the odd cross here and there - maybe enough to supply myself and a few friends in need. I have a shed for males and it's filling up quick :D

Nice and how many plants do you plan on growing at a time?

i'll stagger it, poping six every two wks, accounting for males and fatalities i am hoping for three-four females from each batch. At any one time maybe 9 or ten

Week 2 (Day 21)

Installed a shelf in the cabinet so i could raise seedlings without compromising too much veg space and made a ufo reflector using a microwave proof bowl... I used flat white spray paint to make it reflective enough to redirect the light intensity down toward the tops. Introduced a four wk old photo-period sativa - i vegged her in there for a wk or so before being relocated to my green house for spring nxt year... As you'll find she develops quickly into beautiful landrace  The auto's are thickening nicely at this point, began mild feedings with dilute 0.1% fish emusion and 0.1% rhizotonic with added aminos by foliar at lights out and in the medium between waterings. I like to allow for the containers to dry out completely untill the first signs of wilt before watering and space feedings at least 3-5 days apart and in between feeding with plain pH'ed water. Humidity remained 40-50%, ambient temperature ranged from 75F by day to 63F lights out. Soil temps at night ranged from 50 -55F. The growth of the pineapple express was quite explosive at this stage and revealed their gender. I ended up with one male one female :D

The Purple mazars and MI5's have very thick, very lush green leaves and very thick succulent stems.. the internode spacing is minimal giving a short, bushy and compact growth from these phenos. The BHK is a bit sensitive to the nitrogen and is turning very dark green at this stage so i decided to gently leech the excess nitrates and salts from the soil by drowning the container in a gallon of 10% calcium solution for a few minuets. I'm trying to avoid flushing as much as possible these days to preserve the established soil cultures.

New strains added at
end of week two;

2x Blue mystic
1x Mossy's gem
1x Mi5
1x Purple Mazar

Here's the photos think they are in reverse order..

Love your setup. If you're concerned about males. You could always create your own fem seeds. There's a few members who've tried it with great success.
Using the C.S method

thanks for the kind words carlos.. Yea i think i will try for some fems at some point, it would make the process much easier to anticipate... i have some silver nitrate to hand - it's very caustic, does it work like the colloidal? i've read that foliar application works well..

Haha.. The landrace kind of reminds me of a ghullie suit...

You're welcome. I haven't tried either. But there was a few threads on the site showing how to create and apply it. There's also a member here who sells C.S member name is homegrownrx and he has a site as well. It would be a pain in the ass to plant all those seeds only to find out their males so it would take 2-3 weeks off your time. Kind of making the perpetual grow a bit more tedious

yea i'm getting a 65:35 male to female generally. Will certainly need a few males if i wish to cross a few over the years.. But you're right Carl i could do with some fem seed for sure :D Will look into doing a reversal soon. I did by mistake hermi a few budding females some time ago using an excess of salicyclic acid (asprin), i was experimenting to see if it had growth promoting effects but it gave me damn lady boys haha.. thanks for giving me the inspiration to sort a seed flow out. Its a good idea.. Should have been my initial task really :peace:

Breeding room

Here is some breeding stock i've collected over the past few weeks.. I wait at least a few hours between vistiting each of the rooms consecutively since they are releasing pollen. I am collecting every few days now and freezing it with dried silica. The first few batches clumped and went bad due to moisture retention - by mistake i'd contaminated the vial with flower parts and the pollen absorbed the moisture from them. i guess we'll see how effective my anti-cross contamination techniques are soon enough
