Nice setup. If you've got the room, and the inclination, you could build a separate veg area. Start your new seeds about 3 weeks before the others are finished so that they are sexed and the females are ready to go under the flowering lights when the current harvest is finished.

Hey Muddy nice to hear from you.. Yes a veg room with some T5 would be ideal, moving the plants into flower room as soon as they begin showing sex ;).. This is a sensible idea worth considering when not using fem seed for sure. Thanks for everyone expressing interest/contributing  to this thread..

Week 3 (Day 26)

Seeds put to germinate at the close of wk2 reached soil surface 24-48hrs following cracking with paper towel method (4/5 success) :D. Unfortunately the MI5 didn't break the husk and was lost subsequently to error on my part... I think i may have not given it long enough to respond in the paper towel. I try to not disturb the process to ensure the conditions in the germ vessel are kept relatively constant. Seedlings were fed a few teaspoons water daily and monitored closely.

Those belonging to the initial layer are beginning to thrive at week 3 (day 26 from seed) initiating heavy branching with very short internodes, some with minor signs of nitrogen toxicity characterized typically by very dark green leaves (oily in appearance and a decrease in vigor and growth). The severe nitrogen toxicity present in wk2 in one of the BHK is beginning to clear and color is returning to normal .

Both MI5 turned out to be male by day 29 and were removed from the grow space. The Smurfberry, purple mazar, and blueberry were revealed as females around the same sort of time :booya: the lowboldt is yet undecided at this stage in the grow and one of the BHK (stockier pheno) is female the other (micro pheno) a male.

Well performing females were inoculated with budding/baker's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) on Day 29 and supplemented with amino acids, algae extracts and Zn (25mg/L^-1). The smaller, less developed plants and those showing signs of nitrogen toxicity received 0.1% calmg solution with 1.5 mg/L^-1 copper sulphate. Mild feedings of 0.1% fish emulsion and 0.1% rhizotonic with added aminos by foliar at lights out continued. Following four days of plain watering/drying (day33) soil was fed an intermediate dose of vit-d with calcium and unsulphured molasses. Humidity was stable @ 40-50%, with ambient temperatures no greater than 85F lights on. The smell was surprisingly strong toward the end wk3 and this persuaded me to rebuild of the out take filter and replace the scrubber.

Buddah Man.. I'm on it mate - Filter is working just fine now. Smell is under control for the time being and i'm almost three wks into flower now. The Blueberry, Smurf and Kush don't smell too much yet despite the colas they are forming.. The pineapple is well behind them in terms of flower development but her scent is easily detectable upon opening the closet! The ti02 Cfl's are very effective at moping up the smell in the surrounding rooms and at only 6 dollars each (21w) they're great value for money. I do have to leave the landing light on over-night though since they only work when operational.

Thanks for poping by to take a look

Trifid, loving the grow cabinet mate. The shelf with the seedlings on is an idea I may have to pinch off you. Your plants look amazing. Good job, I'm subbed. Cheers buddy

AB - No worries, these ideas are entirely necessary when keeping the size of the grow space to a minimum, i'm glad that i've inspired you to adopt the idea :D I find having a shelf you can remove easily allows for more accessibility when pulling the plants out the closet to perform the regular cleaning duties. Also there may be times where it is no longer neccessary - be sure to mount it properly to avoid it falling on your plants below

SurfFreak - :howdy: Thanks for the +rep dude.. Appreciate the link you provided, that's very kind :dance2: - i will certainly give it a read and use it to my advantage, this will be very helpful for sure

Think you'll like what's eventually coming though. keep it coming, I feel like your pad-one learner who's just began leaning how to use the good side of the force
