Hi
Let me start this post off first with this disclaimer; This is just an IDEA I'm toying with, I have approached a seed bank to see if there is any interest and am awaiting a response. If no interest there... Than I guess that would be my only option, I would try another seed bank :) Please mods if this post is inappropriate please del thread.

When I first got back into growing last October a very kind soul gifted upon me a collection of ORIGINAL crosses that they worked on. I asked this person how could I ever pay you back for your generosity? Their response was, "Pay it Forward". That really resonated inside of me when I heard those words. I tried at one point to "pay it forward" and went about in a TOTALLY unsafe, stupid thinking , not understanding what I was doing. I had no CHOIOCE for my own safety and everyone elses... I HAD TO STOP, It just was not kosher what I did :shame:

I kept spinning thought in my head of a way I could continue my mission of paying it forward. I came up with the idea of starting my own Seed Co. I am a med patient myself and have a VERY STRONG passion and love for canna and all the medicinal value it brings to me in my life. These past months and ones to follow I have been learning all that I possibly can, I have also taken the money I have saven from freeing myself from my dealer, and have a massed a good size collection of photos and autos. i also invested in some tents and equipment. I am a hobby breeder and nothing more... A med patient on a hunt for my perfect meds. In the meantime during this hunt and experimentations I am amassing a few fem beans. I will never use what I have. I want to spread the wealth.

My proposal at first is to offer packs of seeds that would be a mixed pack (several reason for the mix pack, a small preventive of rippers trying to profit off someones beans that are meant for only good intentions, also the beans are just to provide quick meds for people that are just starting off and cant be bothered with sexing , or someone that just wants a surprise tree with surprise meds :) All seeds in the mix pack are ALL CROSSES of my own, there is no ones pure genetic copies in the mixes :)shame: sorry) this first mix would consist of crosses that could poetentially be;
magic dragon x black dragon, dusted with ghaze pollen or durrty x durrty dragon pollen. Or the mother could have been a magic dragon x black x purple jem. There is also babies of such said above crosses that were dusted with KVS, also have some russian x KVS, and a bunch of other crosses that are all just mishmashes, but all sure to be GOOD MEDS :)

To get a pack of seeds when you make an order at the agreed seedbank you would request in the order that you would like to "pay it forward" the good will behind the promise to get the seeds, is that you would share either the seeds with a friend or some of the bud to someone in need, or just to do a random act of kindness. There would be no way to ensure such actions occurred...but its based off the principals of karma.

In the meantime, I just got a small gl40 tent (1'x1' grow tent) that will become the reversal lab. Right now, a purple chem by calie connect just got hit with some sts.... Hmmm also got a nice snowcap by dna... how bout a grape snowcone? than crossed to a lowryder than worked out to an auto... Its projects such as these that I will be working on, once more projects get underway those will be also offered, so youd have a choice of either a photo mix or an auto mix freebie pack.

Whatt do you guys think of this idea? Would you be more likely to buy from a seedbank that had such an offer over another one that didnt offer as many freebies? Would you be interesting in growing mystery ladies (great for a noob or someone looking to experiment, that way they dont waste the beans they paid hard earned money for.)?

Let me know what you guys think of "Pay It Forward Seeds"

Love the idea, but it has holes in it from a Business perspective.

Its impossible to enforce / regulate that people will actually pay it forward. And even if they do, they ar exposing themselves to the inevitable risk associated with someone else knowing that they grow. Also to transfer seeds is an additional crime in itself, depending where they live.

Also, as a business model, gifting seeds isnt good for business. Seedbanks want custimers to come directly to them. If people are gettimg free beans from others, the likelihood that those those people will actually come to the bank and pay money goes down. Repeat business significantly drops also, as the cycle of paying it forward continues. Generosity and capitalism contradict eachother, unfortunately.

As a cannabis user and advocate however, I think this type of plan is amazing for the community at large. To gift beans to newer growers and help them learnthe craft, can create a cycle of self sustaining cannabis users, which will continue to snowball and cannot be stopped. I think a network like this would be a beautiful thing, but It would have to more closely resemble "Random acts of kindness" as oppose to something thay an income generating business would pursue

That was the whole idea of going through a seedbank, someone would have to place an order first to get them anyways (generated buissness) as well the seedbank would be the ones distrubuting The beans (kind makes it more safe for all, as they are allready buying beans) and as well just the act of paying it forward could be as simple as paying for the person order behind you at the drive thru: its an ideal not a requirement....

I love the story if you were to make a seed co with good prices and genetics that are easy to grow and maintain I think that would be paying it forward to all the other growers and the karma behind the genetics will make them the best plants ever! Lol ahh I'm a bit stoned on my lunch break.
Pay it forward would be a cool seed co name :)

I think the idea is right, just not the framework of it.

Instead of calling it a seedbank, it should be a community, and a movement. People can write and submit their stories of paying it forward and you can gift people seeds as a type of award. People can give seeds to people who recently became ill and need meds. An unstobbale cannabis tidal wave powered by by nothing more than the will to do good for others. I think there is definitely something there, it just needs to be refined a little.

I guess a seedbank would be the wrong name ... The
Entire idea is that I would not be the one to distrubute the seeds or anything of the such... That's why it would have to be a partnership with a seedbank (something like rcmc, or seed depot) that
Way the seed bank would actually be potentially making extra sales... As I also have no interest in selling seeds (aka a real seed co) as this idea would be in essences would just be another
Pack of freebies that would go with only orders already made.

I have to agree with Skatter, the concept of helping people out for nothing in return is a good idea.
But the foundation to get there isn't solid. What about those individuals who wouldn't be able to afford the seeds from the seed bank to get these free seeds?

RCMC kind of already does this. With every purchase from RCMC you get minimum 10 seeds

Anyway Yoda, never the less great idea. I would love to hear some more and hopefully have it running

If only it were legal this would be so much easier

Ahh... Spain, one day :) If this damn country don't change....
