Outdoor Outdoor UK, first time - journal & ref

Settling in nicely. Just need them to grow and for me to keep them clean (somehow!)
I'm going away for 2 weeks a week today, so any advice with regards to prep from you experienced growers is very welcome! Please throw it my way...

Wil do a post specifically about the Yeti's soon -who are doing very well, although are really quite short. I'd like some feedback on how you guys think they are looking at their age. (Budding up nicely!)

These are my 3 little Auto Yeti girls (day 38.)

To my inexperienced eye, they're looking pretty good (even if I do say so myself!) but in 5 days, I'm going away for 2 weeks - any advice?
Any feedback on them overall? Have included a full length shot and a closer up of each.

Looking good Somerset. The only thing to really worry about is water as you know us UK growers are experiencing one of the best summers for a while.
The long range forecast is pretty much the same just a couple of days of showers from what I can see on the bbc.
If you have someone you trust to water for you all well and good if not try to lessen the effect of vaporization by putting gravel or slate around them this will help keep moisture in the soil.
Another way is to use a hose with a stop end on it trail it around your plants and make small holes in it leave the tap on slow you will have to monitor it until you get the flow right (not too much) just a enough to keep them damp
Failing that my friend pray for rain whilst your away

Great looking plants Somerset!

I would not worry about your time away too much, they look pretty well established. Where I am in the Med we have had day temperatures of between 28C and 34c over the last 2 weeks, I only water and feed mine once a week and they've never actually looked distressed or thirsty when I visit them. Give them a good watering the day you leave I am sure they will be pretty unscathed when you return. Enjoy your vacation.

i think they will be fine i have a outdoor grow and the temps reach over 102 F during the day with no problems.

nice mate, awsome, btw i smoek allday every day medicinaly :P startin an outdoor crop as we speak

Anyone care to take a stab at harvest dates on the Yeti's? (and even harvest size?!) I'm hoping to pluck they budz between 35%-50% orange ripeness.

Friends, I need some clear guidance about exactly when to harvest please. I noticed some of the pistils on my Yeti's have started to turn from white to orange (they are only day 41 - yet breeders notes say 70-80 days.) I don't want to make any rookie mistakes, by picking too early but I am a rookie and have absolutely no idea how to tell the moment has arrived, or how soon its likely to be. I like a head high so want to get them somewhere between 35%-50% turned to orange. Advice please!!

Here are some photos to help you see the top of the main cola that has just started turning..

From what I can see they are doing great. No burnt tips so your feeding regiment is good. Just let them grow bro. I grow outdoors too I have seen the odd hair changing for weeks. let them fill right out go to at least day 70 IMO

Brilliant - thanks Fairlynew... (you'll have to change your name soon!) Do you find autos outdoor are about on time, or slower or whatever? Any kind of consistency?
