Dutch Passion Ortega Indica and CBD Kush SCROG under a GN Rebel

Looking fantastic DB! Looking forward to seeing that screen fill up! I'll certainly be taking notes :kusht:

Thanks a lot Dreadlow! Looking forward to watching your scrog as well :d5:

Day 37/5

At the moment they're growing like crazy, I'm not even a week into flower and the screen is pretty full already. I might have to get creative with the scrogging this time. I'm thinking about letting the tops grow out for a bit and then cut away the weaker looking ones and give the fatter ones more space. I think that might be more productive than having an overly dense canopy.
I switched them over to bloom nutes so last feeding was with 1/2 bloom nutes, rhizotonic and 1/2 tsp/gallon of epsom salts. When do you guys normally stop with the root stim? I really have no idea how long you're supposed to use it for.
Light is still about 55-60cm away from the canopy, I haven't seen any signs of deficiency or bleaching so it might be possible to lower it somewhat.

looking good DB, indeed, as the grow progresses nudge the light down as far as possible. By keeping that screen of buds as hight-even as possible you will have the whole screen receiving maximum light intensity. Good stuff bro!

Cheers Tony! I will slowly start dropping the light as they go into flower. I dropped it one link today so it's around 52-58cm away now.

It's been a while since the last update so I figured it was about time. Plants are still stretching, especially after feeding. Last feeding was with 4/5 of bloom nutes + epsom salts at 0.5 tsp/gallon. I dropped the light another link on the chain so it's about 50cm away. Screen is pretty full and I still have about another week of stretch to go. At the moment I'm just trying to find the best placement of the tops. I'm still considering cutting down some of the weaker looking tops to give more space to the bigger ones. They'll have to grow a bit more before I decide which ones to cut if I cut. Anyway, on to some pictures.

They look set for glory bro.

 Thanks Tang, I'm hoping for some chunky buds for christmas. Please Santa

Day 53/21

They're three weeks into flower and the stretch is starting to slow down. I've just been making some minor adjustments on the position of the tops but for the most part letting them grow. I cut down a couple of smaller tops as they were shading the lower budsites of the larger tops. I think I will cut down a few more in the denser areas as they ususally don't produce a lot but still shade the other tops.
I've been letting them grow towards the light so the tops are now about 40 cm away from the LED. I haven't seen any cal/mag issues or bleaching so they seem ok with it. At the moment I'm feeding them a full dose of bloom nutes with some epsom salts. I think it might be time to start adding in some PK as well.
The lower left corner was not really crowded so I let one of the main colas from CBD#1 go for it. I'm curious to see if it pays off letting it have a bit more space. If it gets too tall I can easily pull it back and tie it to the screen.

CBD#2 in the picture above seems to be the furthest along so far. Seeing some early frost already.

Lookin beautiful man.. bring on the big buds ;-)

Great stuff DB, really looking beautiful. Rhizo is said to used all the way through the grow but i like to stop using it once in flower as it is mostly made up of N, and from my experience you dont need much more N than what the base nutes are giving you in bloom mode. I think its a great idea to cut the weaker branches out to make room for the bigger denser and stronger ones. As i said before man this is your best grow yet and i cant wait to see your yield now. Maybe you wont need four plants next time to get the same yield. id say two would be lots under that screen maximized properly like your doing now.

Thanks for popping by mate!

Thanks Grim and thanks for the hint on the rhizo. I stopped it now that I started adding in PK. This time I have a couple of tops that got a bit more space to themselves, I'm curious to see if there's a big difference between them and the ones in the center of the screen. I'm running three plants this time but I think the two topped Kush plants would have been enough to fill the screen with a few more days of veg. It's mostly that I like to throw in a traditional variety as well. I'm using the CBD strain most of the time but I like to add in some regular weed every once in a while.

Day 58/26

I did some minor adjustments to even out the canopy. I also cut away a few more weaker branches. I didn't quite manage to fill up the upper left corner of the screen as there weren't any taller branches around that area. However, there was a pretty sturdy looking branch pushed into the corner so I used a pipe cleaner to tie it to the screen to bring it closer to the center. I'm just going to let it fill up that space.
Last feeding was with 3/5 of bloom nutes and 3/5 of PK and some epsom salts. I haven't used any cal-mag this grow as it seems the epsom salts is enough, I guess there's enough calcium in the tap water I'm using. I let them grow towards the light so they're now about 40cm away. They're still growing a little bit but the stretch is mostly over. Now I just have to sit back and watch them swell, hopefully.

Day 63/31

They've really kicked into flower now so I upped the PK. The feeding today consisted of 3/5 of bloom nutes, 4/5 of PK and some epsom salts (currently around a quarter teaspoon/gallon). I noticed that they're quite a bit thirstier compared to my last grow as last grow I was watering 2l/plant every 4 days and now I'm doing 2.5l/plant every 3 days, I think that's a good sign.
It looks like I have two different phenos of the CBD Kush, one looks more sativa influenced with thinner leaves and taller lankier branches and the other more indica like. The sativa looking one also stretched more and for longer. Made it a bit trickier to even out the canopy. I had this last time around as well but if I'm completely honest I couldn't tell much of a difference between them, the effect was very similar.

On another note I prepared to make some tinctures by grinding up a bunch of weed and I cracked open a jar of ABB that's been sealed and curing for 6+ months. Man, the smell from that jar was amazing, a really sweet blueberry muffin type smell, sticking your nose in the jar you barely notice the typical weed smell. Almost a shame to make tincture out of it. I've been using a CBD Kush tincture for a while and it's really great for symptom relief. During the day (on the weekend, I still wouldn't take it before work) I usually take relatively small amounts and that's usually enough to provide some symptom relief without too much impairment. In the evening I take a larger amount and it's really helpful for relaxing and eventually falling asleep.

The picture above is of CBD#1, which is the more indica looking one.

CBD#2 above looks more sativa influenced.
