Looking forward to the harvest pics, GBW!
Just to further clarify some points made on the pH meter discussion above. Not only should you check your meter when you get it, but you should test it regularly because it will drift over time. I caused myself some problems with my current grow because I went well past a month without calibrating and mine got off by several tenths. I now have reminders on my calendar telling me to check calibration every 2 weeks. If you don't have testing solution, you can test other household items such as milk, white vinegar, or distilled water as a sanity check. Just Google them for the pH numbers, while keeping in mind that none of them are as precise as calibration solution. Cow's milk usually runs from 6.5 to 6.7, so it's a good indicator that your meter is at least in the ball park for what cannabis needs.
And another point worth mentioning is that "auto calibrating" does not mean that the meter will somehow keep itself accurate and never need adjusting. It simply means that you can place it in the proper solution and it will detect it and adjust itself automatically. A non-auto calibrating meter will have something like small screws that have to be adjusted to dial in the meter to match the calibration solution. Both kinds of meters need to be checked and calibrated often. The more you use it, the more you should check it.
