New Grower Ok, ive been debating it, but heres my 1st grow journal.

thanks andy! its amazing how bright it gets in there, it literally feels like the sun is overhead. Im amazed that it has to be lowered anymore than that. could I just get by leaving it?

The pic's look great good clean set up nice!!! but the t5's not a good idea for one you dont need the extra lighting its way overkill with a 1000watter and two its just using more electricity and money that you dont have to spend..other then that you are on your way to a good grow im subbed cant wait to see the progress from here:booya:
ps.you can lower the light it still seems way to high if your temps are staying ideal then let it down as much as the back of your hand can take if its too hot for your hand its too hot for the plants but if not then your golden

awesome growdawg, thanks for the advice. what i was thinking is just letting the leaves get used to it for a day, then ill lower it til the back of my hand gets too warm..if for whatever reason i get bleached leaves, all of my work thus far will be set back..and that would suck! thanks for subbing in, im glad to have u along my journey homey~!

haha..funny you say that, ive never so much have planted anything..i would be the last guy you would EVER think have a green thumb, but when your passionate about something, with enough hard work, anything is possible! It also helps when youve got such a great support team, just waiting to see your next move to see if they can help. I gotta say, after seeing where all that money went finally in action all at once, im so friggin' excited inside i wanna explode! its such a great feeling and sense of accomplishment, wait til ive got some beatiful nugz to show! i wish i could send each and everyone a nice fat bud that been here with me through this process...thanks again!

haha. Hey I'll take one. Just kidding. Setup looks good with the new light, that thing is a brightly beast! I agree with Andy on the lights, you don't really need any more light with that 1000 watter, but it would probably benefit from having the different spectrums in there. But I would wait and see how things go for a week and let them get bigger before adding more.

I think it's already been said but I bet you could lower that light eventually. Good idea on keeping it like that for at least a few days though. Let them get used to their environment before you change anything else. They do better with gradual small changes rather than rapid changes, but you know this I'm just blabbin'.

And eventually, when you get your exhaust going through your carbon filter you will need to keep that on 24/7 for the smell.

yup..great call, actually im getting the carbon filter and new exaust this weekend..just another 200 bucks i really cant afford..haha, but its gotta get done! actually it will help with keeping the tent cool, because its gonna be forcing the cool room air into the tent by sucking the air through the exaust..until then, ive got a box fan blowing the cold air through one of my vent holes. not extremely effective, but hey, its something i guess! if it still goes up in temp, ill have to just leave the door open to the tent some..either way, its 64 in the room and 77 in the tent, so if i just keep mixing both airs, i should be able to keep it comfy for my girls..

Yeah your temps seem to be just fine. Great for having all that light in there. Are you really in Antarctica? Passive intake is the way to go, if you have enough air being pulled out by a fan and through the carbon filter you'll have enough back pressure to pull plenty of fresh air in.

And dude, tell me about it(spending money that is) Oh wait, don't, I know all about it I can't wait until I have everything completely setup. I'm sure the lady wouldn't mind either as to her it looks like I am always having to buy something else. haha

See this is what i like about this site alot of people with the same general idea just diffirent approaches at it.nobody is right or wrong some things work diffirent for everybody like i rapidly set my HPS light close to my plants and they stressed for a day but after that they took off like a g5 jet!!!Look at it like this you do your own thing how you want to do it just use everybody else as refrence and side help its a plant with love and care it will return the favor...but one thing that i can say is a fact is more light more bud and cant stress that enough.Goodluck bro

HAHAHAHA, tell me about it!! seems like everytime i speak to her i gotta be like, all i need left is....(fill in the blank) she thinks im buying my last thing everytime, until something comes up..but ive gotta give her credit, she loves me so much, and she was willing to let me spent almost 2000 bucks on everything ive got..thats including all the "little" stuff. shes been amazing, all to see me happy. last week, i was so broke, i had to scrape together some change to get my dolomite lime (3 bucks) its pathetic, but gotta do what i gotta do. Im finally looking forward to payday this week..anyhow, no, i dont live in antartica..haha. i dont think its inhabitable. Its just something i wrote. Once on this for a while, well have to get better aqainted, who knows maybe were closer then we think. but im from the southern u.s., it gets pretty damn hot where i am, so temps are gonna prove to be difficult.
