thanks a bunch broski, i think it has to be a little further with a thousand watt, cuz of heat, plus im not sure I can get the room to cool that quickly. well see though! karma's much appreciated! :peace:

I'm sure you're on there, man. That thing is a beast. Good luck.

oh yeah, and big buddha, the yellowing is actually on a different plant, and yes, its on the very bottom leaves, not the round ones, but the ones with 3 true leaves..they are slowly disintegrating. Muddy explained to me that its perfectly normal too, so i stopped worrying, but thank you very much for the reassurance!

You're welcome fella. With that badboy booming out light it'll get quite warm. Your reflector type will make a difference to how close to have it but I couldn't see what one you're using?

I use a custom-modded diamond reflector that houses two bulbs for a total of 1kw and that's really pushing it in a 1.5mx2m tent with a 6" Hi-power Ruck and 600mm Filter, and both side vents open.. and that's in the winter!! A parabolic allows you to get the bulb closer as the heat is directed out to the sides.. or a cooltube even better.. so keep a good eye on those temps. A plant will be able to grow better at 24c under a 400w light than at 32c under a 1kw light. Worth thinking about.

:peace:

yeah, i wish i knew all this when i started, i already spent waaaaaay too much coin on this, need to start seeing some return. I kinda got had at the first hydro store i went to by some jerk, basically just wanted my $$. I shouldve known better, for he had absolutely NO inventory in stock, and kept pushing me on the bigger more expensive stuff. My reflector is a yeild master 2 classic air cooled reflector. im gonna have the heat from the bulb sucked into the attic with air that im drawing from the attic, so hot air to cool the bulb, and sent back to the hot attic. hope u follow..lol. Anyhow, its gonna be sucked with a 720cfm inline fan, thats gonna operate with a controlled thermostat set to 80 degrees in the tent..hopefully it all works well, is sure sounds good on paper! haha. anyways, the actual air in the tent will be cooled by my window air conditioner, and circulated with another inline fan thats actually gonna be the fan that my carbon scrubber will be attached to. Does all this make sense? it was quite the project running ductwork and cutting holes in my ceiling, but hopefully it works..I REALLY dont wanna hafta shut down for the summer, which is another thing that dick hydro guy failed to tell me when he was ringing me up..ughh..anyhow, ive put that in the past, and time to keep growing. think all this will work? Either way, im doing it tomorrow morning, so well see! I had to wait til tomorrow, cuz i dont wanna do it right before bed, and wake up to a nightmare. at least i can monitor the situation.

by the way, when you say 24c, do you mean centimeters? that seems awful close...

haha your probably right..i have no idea how to gauge celsius..im a farenheit guy all the way..:toke:

Just take your degrees in celsius and use this formula. Easy. You can almost do it in your head. C x 1.8 + 32= Fahrenheit

So 24 times is 43.2. Add 32 and that's 75.2

Hey GB,

Sounds like you have about enough ventlation. It's close to my own but you have the advantage over my setup because you vent into the attic, whereas some of my heat goes bck into the groom. Plus you have aircon. IF you find it's too hot in the summer.. the only way that can really be dealt with properly is to get a lower wattage light/ballast. Painful to have to shell out more I know.. but in the end it's a headache saver and one of the cheaper solutions.

And yeah I did mean celcius. That's the maximum temp for IDEAL conditions (not necessary just ideal) so I ty my best to target that range as often as possible. Sometimes I can run the full kw.. other times I have to reduce it to 600w, and sometimes I have to reduce it to 400 to keep it at 25 or under. Pisses me off but that's all I can do with the rest of the equipment I have. I've refused to buy anything else that's expensive until I reach the one gram per watt target. If I could grow 400 grams under a 400w light I'd buy myself a bottle of Bollinger to celebrate ;)
